To complete the quest, you will have to head back to the town and make sure you have the item War Memento on you, which you got from Birdie.

Here are a few simple steps that you will have to follow to get what Birdie needs:

  • Give the War Memento to Kent and get Gourmet Tomato Salt in return.
  • Give Gourmet Tomato Salt to Gus and get Stardew Valley Rose in return.
  • Give Stardew Valley Rose to Sandy in exchange for Advanced TV Remote.
  • Give the Advanced TV Remote to George and get the Artic Shard in exchange.
  • Give the Artic Shard to Wizard and get a Wiggling Worm.
  • Give Wiggling Worm to Willy in exchange for Pirates Locket.

After getting the Pirates Locket, you will have to travel all the way to Ginger Island and speak to Birdie.  After a brief talk, she will tell you that this locket will comfort me for the rest of my life. In return, Birdie will teach you the Fairy Dust recipe and you will get five Golden walnuts.
