Honkai Star Rail: Should I Pull For Light Cones?

Published Date :

Whether or not you should pull for Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail is something you must have considered. This question is especially important for free-to-play players as they have to take into account about saving their Stellar Jade or Star Rail Passes, or spending them. Since you get them through Warps which is the game’s gacha mechanic, it comes down to luck on whether or not you will receive it.

You can pull for Light Cones if you have Passes to spare but mostly, you shouldn’t pull for them, especially for free-to-play players. The main reason why you shouldn’t go for them early on is because it is better you save your Stellar Jade or passes for pulling your favorite characters and building a strong team.

Light Cones are used on characters to increase their base HP, Attack, and Defense, and to give them a passive ability. However, for it to work your Light Cone and character Path should match. As such if your team lacks good main DPS, sub-DPS, support, or other roles, Light Cones won’t be of much use even if you have one strong character.

But it isn’t all bad, for example, if you see yourself not pulling for any upcoming characters in the near future and you have some Light Cone that you absolutely want to get then you can go for it. If you still aren’t sure then you can take the pity into consideration as well.

Light Cone Event Warps have 1x promotional 5-Star cone, and 3x features 4-Star cones. Their drop rates are as follows:

  • 5-Star Light Cone: 0.8% Base drop rate and 1.87% with pity.
  • 4-Star Light Cone: 6.6% Base drop rate and 14.8% with pity.
  • 3-Star Light Cone: 92.6% Base drop rate and 83.33% with pity.

With that, you should have no trouble deciding whether or not you should pull Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail. If you are new you should also check out whether you should level up all your characters. This will help you prepare your teams for Forgotten Hall, Memory of Chaos Stages, and more.
