Shiny Charm and the Masuda method

The Shiny Charm brings down the base Shiny odds as low as 1/1365.67. However, combined with the Masuda method, you can further improve your chances. Named after Junichi Masuda, this method requires breeding between Pokemon from two different regional copies of the game. On its own, the Masuda method can get you odds around a possible 1/683. However, if you pair this with the Shiny Charm, the odds can reduce to 1/512.44

Sparkling Sandwiches and Mass Outbreaks

There is another way to get the same odds. Here, you’ll have to combine Shiny Charm, Sparkling Power sandwiches and Mass Outbreaks together. We’ll break it down for you.

Sparkling Power sandwiches are made with Herba Mystica. You’ll have to combine different flavors of Herba Mystica with several ingredients to increase the rates of getting a Shiny Pokemon. This trick can be paired with Mass Outbreaks. These Outbreaks are special daily events where powerful Pokemon spawn. By defeating or capturing Pokemon during this period, you can increase your chances of getting a Shiny Pokemon. Simply cook and eat a Sparkling Sandwich after defeating a Pokemon during a Mass Outbreak. Clearing 60 or more Pokemon during Mass Outbreak and using a Sparkling Sandwich can enhance your chances of landing a Shiny Pokemon to 1/683. But when you add Shiny Charm to the mix, the odds can further lower to 1/512.44.
