With the release of SF6 approaching closer, many players & fans of the series have been waiting for the anticipated open beta but unfortunately, it’s not working for many. Soon as the players boot the game, they are facing the “Communication error” in SF6. On the other hand, several players are having issues connecting or linking their Capcom IDs. Even after endlessly entering their Capcom account, they cannot access SF6. As for the PC players, they cannot download the game on Steam. Although there can be many reasons for these issues, are there any workarounds to resolve them? Check out our guide to find out how to fix the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta not working issues.
How to Fix Street Fighter 6 Open Beta Not Working Issues
Being Capcom’s most anticipated release this year, Street Fighter 6 open beta tends to have a massive player base and overpopulated servers. So, the cause of SF6 not working can be related to server downtime. Luckily, the devs at Capcom addressed the SF6 technical issues while performing an Emergency Maintainance to resolve issues. But as the majority of players were still facing issues even after the maintenance, the Battle Hub Tournaments will be temporarily suspended.
You can check their official Twitter handle to know about all the latest updates regarding online play. We will update this guide as soon as the issues are resolved. But until then, here are some workarounds or fixes for the Street Fighter 6 open beta not working issues:
Check your Internet Connection
If you are facing server-related Communication errors on SF6 beta, it might be due to connectivity issues. So, check your Internet connection before launching the open beta.
- You can restart your Router to resolve any network issues.
- Alternatively, you can also contact your Internet service provider or operator to resolve these issues.
- We recommend players use wired Ethernet for a seamless connection.
Restart SF6 & client
If the previous fix didn’t work out for you, restarting the game can resolve the in-game issues.
- For PC players, restart the Steam client to resolve the technical issues.
- Then, launch SF6 to check if it is running smoothly on your PC or Console.
Restart your Device
Since it worked out for several players, restarting your PC or console might resolve the SF6 not working issues. It will reset your network connection with the servers. Once you have reset your devices, launch SF6 to check if the communication error persists.
How to Fix Street Fighter 6 Capcom ID Login Issue
As mentioned earlier, many PC and console players are having trouble connecting their Capcom IDs in SF6. If you cannot get past the Policy screen after entering the ID, you might have not linked your platform accounts. So, check if your Capcom ID is linked to your Steam account. For console players, check if your Capcom account is linked with your respective PSN or Xbox accounts.
But if it doesn’t fix the issue, we suggest being patient until the devs at Capcom resolve this issue.
How to Fix SF6 not Downloading on Steam Issue
Fortunately, the devs at Capcom acknowledged this issue on their official Twitter account. Now, you can download Street Fighter 6 on Steam without having any issues.
Nevertheless, if you cannot play or download SF6 via Steam, here are some workarounds you can try to resolve the issue:
Clear Steam Cache
This issue mainly occurs due to the saved files of previously open or closed beta. So, clearing out the downloaded Cache can help fix this issue.
Follow the below steps:
- Launch Steam > Steam button on the top-left corner > From the drag-down box, select Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache
Once you have cleared out the Steam Cache, launch SF6 to check if it is running smoothly. However, if that didn’t resolve the issues, try out our next workaround.
Reinstall SF6
While a bit risky and time-consuming, you can reinstall the SF6 on your PC to resolve these issues. For that, you must uninstall the Street Fighter beta and download it again. Once the download is complete, install and launch the SF6 open beta.
This should hopefully resolve any ongoing issues with Street Fighter 6. However, if you are unable to download the beta, there’s no other rather than waiting for the devs to release a patch. Who knows, Capcom might even extend the open beta to compensate for the lost time.
