Seething Opals are a new addition to Diablo 4’s Season 6 called Season of Hatred Rising and while they may look like gems at first glance, they are actually elixirs that give you a temporary boost. Here’s how you can get and use these Opals to make your build more powerful.
What are Seething Opals?
There are 5 types of Seething Opals, with one type only for owners of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The ones available to all players are – Seething Opals of Equipment, Gold, Materials, and Torment. The one with Socketables is for the players who have the expansion.
Their names are quite self-explanatory but there are some details you need to know. Some elements common in all Opals are that the effects last for 30 minutes, kills accumulate Reputation with the Zakarum Remnants, and you gain 15% increased XP.
The difference is that enemies drop more Equipment or Gold or Herbs + Crafting Materials, or Gem Fragments + Runes (Socketables). The Torment variant drops more Artificer’s Stones and sometimes drops Boss Summoning Items or Infernal Compasses. You can only get the Seething Opal of Torment if you’re playing in any Torment Difficulty.
How to Get Seething Opals in Diablo 4?
In a nutshell, you can obtain Seething Opals from the Realmwalker world event, by completing the Seething dungeons.
- You need to first get to the location where the Realmwalker spawns, kill all the monsters, creatures, and the more powerful Bloodbound Guardians around it. You won’t be able to directly damage the boss at first, but taking down the smaller enemies eventually stops the Realmwalker’s immunity.
- Upon defeat, it will open up a portal, where you must clear enemies and proceed further until you see a Realm Gate. Choose the type of reward you want at this point, ensure you have the necessary materials (more on this below).
- Finally, head to the area where a Resplendent chest event must be completed. When you complete this, you will receive the type of Opal you requested at the Realm Gate within the dungeon.
Here are the material requirements at the Realm Gate that you must fulfill:
- Seething Opal of Equipment – 25 Murmuring Obols
- Seething Opal of Gold – 1 Iron Chunk
- Seething Opal of Materials – 5 Murmuring Obols
- Seething Opal of Torment – 200 Sigil Powders
- Seething Opal of Socketables – 3 Angelbreath (For Vessel of Hatred Players)
Remember to consume the Seething Opals, because if you don’t use them, your Zakarum Remnants will not progress.
It’s quite different from the previous seasons where just killing the beasts from Hell would earn you the reputation automatically, but this season, since it’s an elixir, it needs to be consumed. The best part is that you can stack a normal Elixir along with it, so you can be even more powerful while earning Reputation.
