Since there are a lot of pets in Grow a Garden now, knowing about each animal’s benefit is crucial. The Sea Otter is one such helpful pet in the game, and here’s everything about this Legendary animal—its rarity, traits, and how it gives your garden a valuable boost.
Grow a Garden Sea Otter Guide
The Sea Otter is obtainable via the Legendary egg, which can be found in stock in the Pet egg shop. It has only a 12% chance of spawning; however, you can purchase it directly for 129 Robux. With in-game currency, it will cost you 3 million Sheckles, which isn’t a lot if you have farmed millions already. It will take 4 hours to hatch after you place it in your garden.
The Sea Otter has a 10.64% chance of appearing after the egg hatches. The other options are Cow (42.55%), Silver Monkey (42.55%), Turtle (2.13%) and Polar Bear (2.13%). Note that the Sea Otter has a hunger capacity of 30,000 so you need to feed your pet to make the most of its passives.
It’s an adorable pet addition to your garden due to its grey and white body, cute face, and dark brown paws.
What does the Sea Otter do?
While not as useful for mutations like some of the other pets, the Sea Otter is valuable for speeding up the growth of your plants.
- Water Spray Trait: Every ~30 seconds, the Sea Otter emits a free water spray to the nearest plant within ~15 studs. This ability mimics the effect of using a Watering Can, which accelerates plant growth. Plus, it will help you save money that would be spent on purchasing multiple Watering cans as well.
- Keep in mind that this ability is random, and there is no higher or lower chance based on the rarity of crops. When the pet performs its ability, you get a notification “Sea Otter watered your (crop name) plant.”
All in all, while there are better pets available in Grow a Garden, the Sea Otter is a decent choice if you are looking for quick growth of plants without using a Watering can or Sprinkler each time. It can be used along with other Pets that provide mutations, giving an overall boost to your garden.
