How to romance Liara T’Soni in Mass Effect?
Liara is the only character that both male and female Shepards can romance. And just like in real life, whenever you get to talk to her in the game, do not lose that chance. Select all the right options that you feel would make her feel comfortable around you and earn your trust. Offer her your assistance when you can and in general choose all the positive dialogue towards her. At any point do not be professional with her and keep things casual. Refrain from using renegade speech checks too. Note, that you may share a brief kiss with her in Mass Effect 2, but you will be able to spend more time with her than that. She will be around you more often in Mass effect 1 and 3 for you to progress things until romance with her.
Mass Effect 1
First things first, you will need to save Liara to be able to romance her in Mass Effect. Recruit Liara by completing the ‘Find Liara T’Soni’ Mission early on in the game. This will help you get more dialogue opportunities with her and build a connection. The sparks will fly when Liara tells you that she was looking into your background. There is a possibility that you will already be in a relationship with Ashley or Kaidan at this point depending on the gender of your Shepard and will be confronted by Liara and Ashely or Kaidan. Mass Effect 3
Liara may have a soft spot for you as regardless of who you choose to be within Mass effect 1 or 2, you will still be able to woo her into romancing you. That is given the fact that you are able to save her in mass effect 2. She will, however, at some point express a tinge of jealousy if you were in a relationship with someone else in Mass Effect 2. After Priority: The Citadel, you will be able to go to Liara’s room and talk to her. Here you will have the option to either stay friends with her or be more than friends.
