The early access for MW 2 has already started and so far everything has been going smoothly. But recently, several players in the community have been getting a strange error while playing the COD Modern Warfare 2. This error states that “your game data is corrupt. You must reset your ranks and unlocks to continue“. While PC players are mostly facing Dev Error 6036, PS5 players have been encountering the Niamey Lee error. Players are worried about their ranks and unlock if they hit the yes button. Not to worry, check out our guide to fix the Reset rank error or the Niamey Lee error in Modern Warfare (MW) 2.
How to Fix the COD Modern Warfare (MW) 2 Reset Rank Error (Niamey-Lee Error)
Here’s how to fix the Reset rank or Niamey-Lee error in Modern Warfare 2:
- Once you are prompted with the message, hit the Yes button.
- Now, hit the Quick Settings button to open the Settings menu.
- As you navigate, press the Circle button or Esc to exit the menu.
- Upon exiting, you will find the notification for the early access campaign.
This will trigger a return and direct you to the correct menu as mentioned by Infinity Ward. In addition to that, the devs also acknowledged and resolved this error. As mentioned by Infinity Ward’s tweet recently, you need to restart the game client to resolve this issue.
But if it doesn’t work out, you can follow the above-mentioned steps. Also, make a note that you would neither lose your rank nor any unlocks.
