The Gauntlet of Shar awaits in Baldur’s Gate 3. As the story progresses, you’ll learn of an ancient Ketheric relic hidden within the Thorm Mausoleum in Reithwin Cemetery. To obtain this relic, you must traverse the legendary Gauntlet of Shar. In this guide, we’ll show you how to reach the relic in Shadowfell in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Where to Find the Ketheric Relic in Shadowfell in BG3?
The ‘Entering Shadowfell’ quest line sends you on an adventure to find Ketheric Thorm’s relic. This powerful artifact is hidden away in the dangerous Shadowfell dimension. To gain access, you’ll need to make your way through the Moonrise Towers and pass the trials of the Gauntlet of Shar.
Go to the Thorm Mausoleum
Start by heading to the northwest area of Moonrise Towers. You may encounter a pale elf here that you can get Astarion to convince to move out of your way. Further on, speak to Raphael with a successful Persuasion check to learn more helpful details about the quest.
Watch out for traps in the rooms as you enter the Mausoleum inside the towers. In the middle chamber with a coffin, interact with the pictures on the walls in this order: Moonrise Towers, Grief, General. This will unlock the next door. Don’t forget to tap the Traversal Gem as you leave.
Find the Gauntlet of Shar and Balthazar
The Gauntlet of Shar is next, with a statue in the center and coffins in each corner. Turn all the metal levers to make the statue glow, opening up a safe way to take the Umbral Gem. You’ll also find Balthazar here, who reveals that he’s also looking for the relic. Work with him to collect 4 Umbral Gems.
Place the gems into the Alter to open the Inner Sanctum before Balthazar arrives. Inside, you’ll finally locate the relic, which turns out to be the Nightsong, trapped long ago. You can now choose to let Balthazar take her, kill her or free her based on your playstyle.
