Every once in a while, your town can fall under siege by a neighboring territory or some Bandits. To tackle them, you will need to hire Mercenaries in Manor Lords. These are professional warriors who can protect your people but in return, you will have to pay them. Aside from defensive reasons, another advantage of having Mercenaries is that you can use them to conquer rival territories. Just think about it, won’t it be good if you expand your area of control?
So if you are nodding yes to recruiting Mercenaries in Manor Lords, this guide can help you through it. We have covered some important points about these warriors that you shouldn’t miss. So be sure to stick to the end.
How to Hire or Recruit Mercenaries in Manor Lords
To Hire or Recruit Mercenaries in Manor Lords, you have to click on the Army menu at the bottom of the screen. From there, click on the “Create New Units” button (plus icon) and then select the “Hand offering some coins” icon. You will then get three Mercenaries options that include the following:
- The Ravenous Vultures
- Cost: 110 Treasury Wealth for 1 Month Contract
- The Wayward Sons
- Cost: 45 Treasury Wealth for 1 Month Contract
- Greencaps
- Cost: 90 Treasury Wealth for 1 Month Contract
You can select any of the above three Mercenary groups and hire them in Manor Lords. If you choose to go with the cheapest Mercenary Group, The Wayward Sons, then you have to pay them 45 Treasury Wealth for a month of service. After 1 month, you can resign them again or simply let them go. One important thing to note is that Treasury Wealth is your personal money. It’s not Regional Wealth that is the collective money of your town. So if you want to recruit Mercenaries in Manor Town, you have to pay money from your own pocket.
One of the ways to avoid spending Treasury Wealth on Mercenaries is by imposing a Mercenary Tax. However, this will result in disapproval from your people, which is not good as it decreases the happiness of the town. Also, you should know that Mercenaries don’t always spawn in your territory. Often, they spawn in an area far away from your base. So you have to zoom out and navigate to find and bring them to your location.
How to Disband Mercenaries
Keep in mind that keeping the Mercenaries nearby all the time can upset the citizens. This creates a feeling that their Taxes are being used carelessly. So to tackle this problem, you can always choose to Disband the Mercenaries in Manor Lords. You can do this by selecting your Units from the Army Tab. And then, you can press the “Disband” button (refer to the image above) to make them go away.
That’s all you can do to Recruit Mercenaries and put your town on top. If you think there is more to learn, you are more than welcome to check out our dedicated section for Manor Lords on Gamer Tweak. We have covered plenty of helpful guides that can make your life easy.
