According to the leaked document, which can be viewed here, Microsoft leaked the price and launch year of Sony’s new PS5 Slim in an official document sent to the United States Court in the case that the company faces completing the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

In the document, Microsoft argues about the differences between Xbox and PlayStation consoles, while also mentioning the new upcoming console of PlayStation 5 Slim. As we can read in the document presented by Microsoft, it is basically discussing the consoles currently on the market and the new PS5 Slim console:

“In fact, the entry-level versions of the current Xbox and Switch are offered at the same price point ($299.99), and the Xbox Series S is sold for $50 less than the Switch OLED model ($349.99). PlayStation likewise sells a less expensive Digital Edition for $399.99, and is expected to release a PlayStation 5 Slim later this year at the same reduced price point,” says the document.

It is interesting to note that, by consulting the PDF published online now, there are also other references to the launch of a PlayStation Slim, with even a part of the text that has been completely obscured and which would therefore contain confidential information.

We will, therefore, have to wait and see if what is stated in these documents by Microsoft will be confirmed, at the moment, we know that within this year we should see PlayStation Project Q, the handheld console designed for remote play from PS5.
