The same month also saw the release of the fourth generation consoles from Microsoft the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. However, since then the ninth-generation console from Sony went on to sell over 40 million units worldwide.
The console also has more market share than that of the Xbox Series X and S. However, Nintendo Switch which was released back in 2017 has sold more than 132 million units, a whopping 92 million more than PlayStation 5.
