Promotion helps you gain additional XP even after hitting the maximum level on the specific character class in the game. With it, you will be able to further level up your miners while keeping all the items and upgrades that you unlocked along the way. However, players will first need to grind their character to a certain level in the game.

Along with reaching the specific level, there are other requirements that players will have to fulfill to promote their character in Deep Rock Galactic. Not to mention, it also comes with a list of bonuses and badges that players can acquire. To promote the character class, players will first need to level up the dedicated class to level 25 in Deep Rock Galactic. Once you reach level 25, you will unlock the specific Promotion Assignment which will be different for each class in the game. Completing the different assignments is necessary for all the character classes. Here are the assignments for each class in Deep Rock Galactic:

Driller

  • Mining Expedition
  • Escort Duty
  • On-site Refining
  • Point extraction

Engineer

  • Mining Expedition
  • Salvage Operation
  • Egg collection
  • On-site Refining

Gunner

  • Mining Expedition
  • Salvage Operation
  • Egg collection
  • Escort Duty

Scout

  • Mining Expedition

  • Egg collection

Once you fulfill all the prerequisites and complete the assignmenst, head over to the memorial hall on the space rig. Players will find a terminal behind the statue where you will be able to access your promotion. However, there is a cost that you will have to pay to level up. The promotion cost will consist of a certain number of credits and other resources depending on the class. Once you have enough, you can promote the character in the game.

It is worth mentioning that going forward you will keep all the progress on weapons, perks, credits, crafting materials, and vanity items in Deep Rock Galactic. After promotion, you will also gain different bonuses such as an Honor Badge for the character and other rewards like an additional perk slot, etc.
