Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most popular tabletop roleplaying game since 1974. It is a cooperative, storytelling game where you and other players take on the roles of different characters within a story. Over the years, there have been different publications of the game. However, the community of players and the fanbase remains the same. With Project Baxter, the developers at Starbreeze Entertainment are hoping to bring Dungeons & Dragons to one of its biggest scales ever with Unreal Engine 5.

According to CEO of Starbreeze Entertainment, Tobias Sjögren, “It is hard to imagine a better pairing than Dungeons & Dragons® and Starbreeze – both with their foundation in cooperative and community driven experiences, ‘play it your way’ and infinite replayability. Development of the game is in full swing, and we are excited to deliver an amazing Dungeons & Dragons action-adventure in 2026.”

Eugene Evans, the SVP Digital Strategy & Licensing at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro mentions, “Our collaboration with Starbreeze is a prime illustration of our strategy. Given their impressive games and passion for Dungeons & Dragons, we are confident that they will create an experience that will delight fans worldwide.”
