If you want to practice with friends in CS2, you should know how to make a private match and lobby. With the launch of the most awaited sequel, Valve introduced many new significant changes and tweaks to the title. However, before stepping into the new Premier or competitive modes, practicing these big changes with your friends or other players is a real help. But with the new title, many players are confused about setting up a private match. Don’t worry, check out our guide on how to make a Private match and lobby in Counter Strike 2 for practicing with your friends.
How to Make a CS2 Private Match and Lobby
You can make a private match and lobby with the Private Matchmaking option in CS2. But before getting on with the steps, ensure that your friends are added to your Steam account. Once your friends are added, you can create a Private matchmaking pool in Counter Strike 2 for a private lobby and match.
So, follow the below steps:
- Firstly, hit the Play button and select the Matchmaking tab from your Main Menu.
- Select the Private Matchmaking mini-tab.
- You can press the Shift + Tab shortcut button to invite your friends.
- Then, share the code for the current matchmaking pool with your friends via Chat.
- You can also Manually enter the code if your friend has created a Matchmaking pool.
- Toggle the option for an Open Party queue or not based on your preference. Ensure that all the players are added to the queue.
- Lastly, press the Go button to start with the match.
Note that if you are unable to add your friends on Steam, it might be because of a limited account. These accounts are restricted from adding friends but can accept friend invites from other players. For a non-limited Steam account, you must spend $5 or more from your Steam account.
How to Practice and Play CS2 with Friends
Private matchmaking is the best way to practice with friends. But other than making a Private match and lobby in Counter Strike 2, there are also many ways to play with your friends. They are as follows:
- You can play with your friends or other players on Custom workshop maps.
- You can also press the Community Servers button to play on different servers next to the Practice tab. But ensure that these Servers are not full or password protected.
- For that, you can filter out these options in the Game Servers browser.
- Speaking of which, you can host a Dedicated server to invite your Steam friends to Counter-Strike 2.
- However, making a Private match and lobby in-game is the easiest way out of all for us.
