CoD MW2: How To Preload Multiplayer In PC & Consoles

Here is how you can preload multiplayer for CoD Modern Warfare 2.

CoD Modern Warfare 2 is about to release on 28th October and the players want to preload its multiplayer. Thankfully the mode is available for preloading and you can do it irrespective of whether you play on a PC or Consoles. So let us quickly check how you can preload CoD MW2 Multiplayer on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox early.

How to Preload Multiplayer for CoD MW2

You can preload CoD MW2 from your client on PC or your library on your consoles after pre-ordering the game. Here is how you can preload the game for the different platforms:

  • Battle.net
  • Steam
  • PlayStation
  • Xbox 

On PC the game will require at least 72 GB of free space. So you should clear it up in case you don’t have that much space readily available.

Battle.net

  1. Launch Battle.net and go to modern warfare 2.
  2. Click on the update button if it is available. Or on the install button if you haven’t installed the game.

Steam – Preload CoD MW2 Multiplayer

  1. Launch Steam and go to your Library.
  2. Look for MW2 and open it.
  3. Here, click on the update button or the install button.

PlayStation

  1. Go to the Game Library.
  2. Next, go to your Collection.
  3. Look for Modern Warfare 2 and open it.
  4. If you are on PS5 you can choose whether to install the PS4 or PS5 version of the game.
  5. Click on Download. This will bring up the add-ons to install. Make sure you check the Multiplayer pack here. Of course, you can install all of them. The options you get will be off.
    • Campaign Pack 1
    • Campaign Pack 2
    • Warzone 2
    • Co-op Pack
    • Multiplayer Pack
  6. After choosing them click on the Install button.

Xbox

  1. Go to My Games & Apps.
  2. Next, go to Manage Updates.
  3. Here, click on Updates.
  4. Now, open MW2 and click on update.
  5. From here go back to games and open Modern Warfare 2.
  6. Click on it and choose Manage installation.
  7. Check the add-ons for the game that is Multiplayer, Co-op, and Campaign.
  8. Next, click on save changes.
  9. This will begin preloading MW2 Multiplayer on your Xbox.

When can you Start Preloading Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer?

You can preload the multiplayer of MW2 from October 26th. The campaign mode has been available for preloading since 19th October 2022. So at the time of writing this article, you can start preloading the game if you haven’t already. Here is when preloading unlocks:

  • Los Angeles – 21:00 PDT
  • Mexico City – 23:00 CDT
  • Quebec City – 00:00 EDT
  • New York – 00:00 EDT
  • Sao Paulo – 01:00 BRT
  • London – 05:00 GMT
  • Stockholm – 06:00 CEST
  • Berlin – 06:00 CEST
  • Seoul – 13:00 KST
  • Tokyo – 13:00 JST
  • Sydney – 15:00 AEDT
