How Dwarves become Possessed in Dwarf Fortress

Possessed Mood In Dwarf Fortress

As we know, Dwarves work day and night for the betterment of the Fortress. Once the Fortress observes better growth, it avails new job opportunities in a noble position. While some Dwarves will be happy with their existing jobs, some will have more luxurious demands. When such highly demanding Dwarves are not given what they wanted, they develop negative thoughts. Hence, there are chances that a Dwarf may get Possessed in such situations.

If it happens, you will be notified and you can immediately re-center your screen to identify the Possessed Dwarf.

What Possessed Dwarf do?

In Dwarf Fortress, a Possessed Dwarf will stop interacting with other Dwarves. Further, the Dwarf will get itself a workshop and start working on an Artifact. Meanwhile, they won’t even eat or drink anything which justifies their Possessed Mood. Moreover, it is impossible to remove them from the workshop or any dwarf to enter there.

In addition, they will ask for the required materials through cryptic messages. A Possessed Dwarf will mutter the Artifact they are working on. If the completion of Artifact remains unsuccessful, then the Dwarf will become insane and die.

However, it is up to you if you want to help them complete the Artifact or wait until they die. Also, it is for sure that you will receive a Legendary Artifact from the Possessed Dwarf.
