The Pokémon Company today officially announced Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch, a new game from the popular photo series released on the Nintendo 64.
In the new Pokémon Snap game, the player will travel to unknown islands to photograph Pokémon in its natural habitats, such as dense forests and deserted beaches. Throughout the adventure, the player will take pictures of the monsters to fill his Photodex.
For what little we can see in the trailer below, it will have the same mechanics as the classic title of Nintendo 64 when having to take photos of the Pokémon that we see walking calmly through the stages. Depending on how we catch them, the score we receive will be higher.
Still, there are not many details at the moment and The Pokemon Company has only indicated that it will offer more information later, so for the moment we can’t even count on an approximate release date.
The game is developed by Bandai Namco and will be available on the Nintendo Switch, but no details have been revealed. Meanwhile, we leave you with its presentation trailer below.
The original Pokémon Snap was released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, and allowed to capture photos of 63 of the 151 first-generation Pokémon. With this renovation of the classic, the gallery of pokemon available for photography is expected to expand enormously due to the great variety of pocket monsters that currently exist.
