How to Play Baldur’s Gate 3 on Mac (Workaround)
Before getting started on all the workarounds to play the full version of BG3 on Mac, it is necessary to update your device to at least version 10.15.6. This prerequisite was present in the Early Access as well. The game requires Metal 2.2 Features and it was recommended to update the MacOS to run it at its full capacity.
With that being said, here are the best workarounds you can try to enjoy BG3 on your Mac:
Boot Camp
Players with Intel Macs can use Apple’s own multi-boot utility assistant Boot Camp to switch between Windows and Mac Os to play Baldur’s Gate 3. Although players with M1 & M2 chips i.e. Silicon Macs wouldn’t be able to use the assistant to their advantage. Intel Mac users can switch their OS with just a restart, however, the installation can seem a little confusing. We would recommend you visit their official website and then try out the application.
Parallels
For players with Silicon Macs, your best bet would be to give the desktop virtualization software Parallels a try. It draws its similarities from the Android Emulator Bluestacks. The software is also pretty simple to use with just downloading and installing the latest version on your device. And then installing Steam on Parallels to play the full version of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Mac.
GeForce or Boosteroid
Players can use Cloud Gaming Services like GeForce Now or Boosteroid to play BG3 on their Mac and explore the Forgotten Realms. The most basic requirement would be a stable internet connection while trying out the services. The game will run smoothly and players will be able to enjoy the game.
