After Disco, the developers have yet another unique variant for your fruits, and that’s the Plasma mutation in Grow a Garden. Like other mutations, it will show up in your garden during a certain timeframe, and if you don’t have this type of mutated fruit yet, here’s everything you need to know about it.
How to Get Plasma Mutation in Grow a Garden
The Plasma mutation is obtainable if you’re online in the game during the Lazer Storm event. Similar to the colorful Disco, it is a rare, admin-triggered weather. During this event, a giant NPC named Jandel appears in the sky, emitting laser beams from his eyes that sweep across the map. Any garden plot struck by these lasers has a chance to get the Plasma Mutation in the crops located there.
The only way to have a chance of obtaining Plasma is to play frequently and hope that the admin is also online, activating this weather type in-game. If you’re lucky to witness it, you’ll see that the affected crops show a glowing, pink-purple color. The multiplier that your fruit will get is x5, so it will sell for a significantly higher amount than its base value, but it’s not close to the x125 multiplier of Disco or x120 of Celestial fruits.
A tried-and-trusted way to be in Grow a Garden at the right time is to keep track of every new event and log in before that. Admins are more likely to trigger special events during game updates.
The last time the Lazer storm event was activated, the game crashed because of the high number of active players (7 million+). However, it may not crash at other times, because the average player count appears to be around 1.5M. So, there is a chance you might see the event randomly activated by the developers.
If your crops in Grow a Garden have received the Plasma mutation, you can choose not to harvest them yet. Wait until more events (such as Rain, Thunderstorm, Night, etc.) appear so that you can stack mutations leading to a lot more Sheckles from the same fruit.
