It has been quite a while since Overwatch 2’s new support hero was teased. But despite the time passed we haven’t learned anything new about her from the official sources yet. While she could be a brand new character or someone who has existed in the game’s lore for quite some time now, the fans don’t want to wait. And there are plenty of theories that have a lot of potential to reveal more about her.

Overwatch 2 New Support Hero Teaser Reveal
During the Invasion trailer for OW2, the game revealed story missions and the new support hero. And even though she was shown very briefly for a few seconds. It was more than enough for fans to start theorizing about her origins and people comparing her to other games. You can check her out in the official trailer below.
And the two biggest theories around who she can be are, that first she could be related to the Sun God Inti. This theory is quite strong as the banner for the support hero for season 6 could be showing a region from Peru. And the second one which isn’t really a theory but more of a comparison is with Senna from League of Legends.
Is the New OW2 Support Hero from Peru?
As pointed out in a Reddit thread, the new support will most likely be from Arequipa, Peru. User u/based_guapo noted that the mountains looked a lot like Machu Picchu in Peru.
About her tyings to Inti, Inti is an ancient Inca Sun God. Her headpiece even resembles Pachacuti Inca, the ninth ruler of the Kingdom of Cusco. The difference is, he had a staff beside him. And this doesn’t exactly match the weapon our new hero seems to be carrying.
But if she is related to the Sun god, then we could expect her shooting/directing rays of the sun in some way to heal. This is just a speculation though.
Will the New Support Hero have Senna’s Abilities?
Players of League of Legends that play Overwatch can see the visual resemblance between the two characters. What’s interesting here is that her weapon resembles the look of the thing our new Support carries. If it does turn out to be a gun, it could work like Senna’s Piercing Darkness ability. It heals enemies and deals damage to foes.
This ability seems more fitting in Overwatch as compared to her other abilities and passive.
Can the New Support Fly?
It is currently not known whether she will be able to fly or glide. But we could expect her to have such powers as a passive. Especially if she is connected to the sun god. And based on her silhouette she even has a cape. So her being able to fly doesn’t seem that far off and could make sense.
When is OW2 New Support Hero Releasing?
The new support hero will release on August 10 with the start of Season 6 of the game. The last new hero in the game who was also a support was Lifeweaver. He was added to the game in Season 4.
Which will be the Next Hero after Support in Overwatch 2?
The next hero after the upcoming support is going to be a Tank. There are plenty of DPS heroes in the game followed next by Tank. And so far with the release of Overwatch 2, we have seen 3 new Supports (counting the upcoming Support), 2 Tanks, and 1 DPS. So it makes sense the next hero after the new support is a Tank to have more hero options.
