The only reason why it became everyone’s favorite is it does not need you to reload. Instead, reloading changes between three types of ammo — Rid O’ Life, Casutolerene, and Debilerol.

How To Get The Needler In The Outer Worlds: Murder On Eridanos
Obtaining The Needler in The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos is a bit lengthy process. To get your hands on this impressive weapon, you will have to progress through the main story until you reach a quest called, Naked Hunch. To get this quest unlocked, you will have to tell Administrator Ludovico the name of the killer.
During the quest, you will visit a place called Rizzo’s Distillation Factory. Once you get inside the Factory, you will have to have a talk with the terminal, asking the terminal to remove the fog from a glass pane. There is something behind the fog that you are familiar with.
Now, you will come to know that Halcyon Helen is still alive. After having a brief conversation with Helen, you will be given two options — side with Administrator Ludovico r side with Halcyon Helen. Regardless of which side you go, you will eventually get The Needler.
If you want to get your hands on The Needler as quickly as possible, I highly recommend going side with Ludovico. Because if you side Helen, you will have to reach the Persuasion level of 40 or above to get The Needler.
Siding With Ludovico
If you decide to side with Ludovico, you will need to progress the questline until you get inside the Pilothouse. Once you get there, you will have to disperse the Larvae for the Administrator. Notably, you will have to kill Halcyon Helen first before you begin the dispersion. Once Helen is dead, you can have The Needler.
Siding with Helen
If you decide to side with Helen, you will have to escape the distillation facility and reach the Penthouse, which is located in the Grand Colonial. Once you reach the said location, you will find Helen in the room. While having a conversation with Helen, you will have to ask for The Needler. Notably, you can’t have The Needler if the Persuasion level is below 40.
During the conversation, you will have to make her happy and persuade her to give The Needler. Once you have enough Persuasion level, select “Not so fast. Let me borrow your Needler” and she will happily give The Needler to you.
