Should I Open The Repository In Hogarts Legacy? (Answered)

Updated Date :

Toward the ending of Hogwarts Legacy, you will have to make an ultimate choice. Wherein, you have to decide if you want to keep the Repository Contained or Open it. While Ranrok is coming closer, you only have a matter of time until you opt for a choice. While keeping the repository contained sounds like a noble choice to make, what happens if you chose to open it in Hogwarts Legacy? Here is everything you should know.

Is it Okay to Open the Ancient Magic Repository in Hogwarts Legacy?

Choosing to Open the Repository will activate the Evil Ending in Hogwarts Legacy. Wherein, your character will be using the power of the Ancient Magic Repository to fight against Ranrok. During this conversation, Professor Fig will ask if you are sure about it or not. However, in the end, he will agree and the Repository will be opened finally. In this process, loads of debris will collapse on Fig and he will eventually die. But, this will make him vanish in a way that no one could ever imagine.

Whereas, choosing to keep the Repository contained instead of opening it in Hogwarts Legacy will initiate a Normal Ending. An ending in which, you do not take help from the Contained Ancient Magic and defeat Ranrok on your own. Although, Professor Fig dies even if you choose to keep the Repository Contained.

So what makes the difference if Professor Fig dies both ways? If you open the Repository, Professor Fig’s death won’t be heroic. On the other hand, if you keep it contained, Professor Fig’s death would be more heroic and noble.

That being said, it is totally up to you if you want to open the Repository in Hogwarts Legacy or not. It will just change a few cutscenes and nothing else. Moreover, the True Ending for Hogwarts Legacy will also remain the same upon choosing both options.

Hopefully, you will make the right choice of whether to open the Repository or not in Hogwarts Legacy. While you are here, make sure to check out our Hogwarts Legacy Wiki for more such content.
