Getting no in-game sound or facing random audio issues? These are the fixes that you can try for Age of Empires 4.
No sound issues have been coming up in Age of Empires games pretty often as observed from the various posts on forums. Sometimes the sound randomly stops, and sometimes it doesn’t work during the campaign or menu options specifically. If this is happening to you in Age Of Empires 4, here’s how to fix the no sound and audio not working issue easily.
First and foremost, check your volume settings via the Volume mixer. Right-click on the speaker symbol on your PC and open up Volume Mixer. If the volume for Age of Empires IV is turned down, turn it up and check if the audio randomly stops working.
If the volume settings are fine, then try these steps to potentially fix the sound not working issue in AoE 4.
If it’s a one-off glitch that has come up while playing for a long time, a fresh restart of the game should ideally work.
Here are the minimum system requirements for AoE IV.
Depending on your audio requirements, you can download the newest versions of the drivers for Dell, Asus, HP, Realtek etc from the official websites.
This seems to have worked for quite a few players as mentioned by many on forums. Download or install the latest update of DirectX by clicking here. As per the minimum requirements, the game needs DirectX version 12.
