After a decade of anticipation, wild rumors, and early leaks, the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally here. Despite having planned for tomorrow, Trailer 1 was forcefully launched today due to an early leak. It revealed that GTA 6 will be released only on Xbox Series X | S and PS5 on launch. Set to release in 2025, the next GTA title will not be released on any last-gen consoles, Xbox One and PS4. This was obvious considering the next installment won’t run on older systems.
However, the press release by Take 2 Games revealed that Rockstar Games will be continuing their old tradition by releasing the new GTA titles on consoles first, and PCs later. While this news can be a bummer to PC players, the statement made things much clearer. So, here’s everything you need to know about it.
GTA 6 Skips PC at Release, Confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S
The press release by Take 2 Games announced that Grand Theft Auto VI is “coming to PlayStation® 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025“. That said, the entire statement didn’t mention any word of PC. While following their old trend, GTA VI will arrive on PC eventually within some time.
But as for when the title will be coming out on PC, it is a question that only Rockstar Games can clear for players. The Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, said that “Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences“. Further adding, he also shared, “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere“.
Hopefully, GTA VI won’t skip the PC release entirely but the PC port can be a bit lengthy. If that happens, we will ensure to update this article with more info. Being the most anticipated game of this century, the GTA 6 trailer broke many records while solving many questions and fan theories.
