Nintendo Announces Handheld Version Of The Switch Titled Switch Lite Priced at $200

Nintendo has finally announced the smaller version of its Switch titled, Switch Lite. This is a handheld version of its major console, this will certainly bring a lot of mobility to its players.

There had been rumors going around for the past few weeks even though Nintendo did everything it could to keep things under wraps, this new version will not be less powerful rather just a handheld device which can run all the games of the original Switch.

The Switch Lite will feature a 5.5″ touch screen and will exclude the detachable Joy-Cons and HD Rumble. There will be a D-pad on the left but the rest has been kept untouched to keep the aesthetics of the original Switch.

According to Nintendo the battery of this Lite version will last anywhere between three to seven hours which is a just a bit better than the Switch. There won’t be any dock or kickstand for this version as it is purely handheld.

There aren’t any HDMI ports which means that you cannot connect to a monitor or a TV, but you can connect your Joy-Cons wirelessly. Rather you can check out the detailed comparison between the two consoles at the official Nintendo Website.

The Switch Lite will be available from September 20 and will be priced around the $200 mark sporting in a yellow, grey, and turquoise color.
