On January 23, 2024, Netflix revealed information about the success of GTA Trilogy on the platform with a letter to shareholders. Check it out in its entirety to get a sneak peek into Netflix’s plans, goals, and growth.

Regarding the games, they write, “While it’s still early days for our games offering, engagement tripled last year — and despite games still being small, and certainly not yet material relative to our film and series business, we’re pleased with this progress. For example, in Q4, we debuted the Grand Theft Auto trilogy from Rockstar Games. This has become our most successful launch to date in terms of installs and engagement, with some consumers clearly signing up simply to play these games.”

As per MobileGamer.biz, the top games on Netflix before the GTA trilogy dropped, were Asphalt Xtreme, Stranger Things: 1984 Bowling Ballers, and Exploding Kittens. While some other games like Too Hot To Handle: Love is a Game did help give it a spike, GTA has taken it to a whole new peak.
