Ark Survival Evolved is an Action-Adventure Survival game from Studio Wildcard. Here you are brought to a deserted Island filled with wonders of the Past, Present, & Future. Dinosaurs are a big part of this game & as such, you can Tame, Breed, & ride them. Breeding allows the player to have more of the same Creature if they have a Male & Female of that Creature. Sometimes during Breeding, the children of the Creature will attain certain Mutations. Mutations change the attributes of the Creature that were originally not there in the parents. In this guide, I will show you what kind of Mutations you can get in Ark Survival Evolved.
What Kind of Mutations can You get in Ark Survival Evolved?
As I have mentioned above, Mutations are random changes to a certain Quality or attribute of a Creature that was obtained during breeding. You can get 2 types of Mutations, those being Color Mutations & Stat Mutations. These are the two types of Mutations you can get in Ark Survival Evolved.
Color Mutations are mutations that change the base color of the child creature in one or more Color Regions. Color Regions are the visible sections of the Creature that the player can see. All creatures have 6 Color Regions but not all regions are used by every Creature. For Example, the Dodo Bird uses all 6 Regions while the Dire Bear only uses 2 Color Regions.
Stat Mutations are boosts to one of the mutable Stats of the creature. This type of Mutation increases a random stat by 2 levels as a Base Stat. The Speed stat will not change if the mutation lands on it & the Torpidity stat is a non-mutable stat.
You can find out if a baby creature got a mutation if its base level is 2 levels above the base level of the parents. If it gets 2 mutations the level difference will be 4 & for 3 mutations the level difference is 6. The chances of getting a mutation on a creature are:
- 7.31% for a Single Mutation.
- 0.184% for a Double Mutation.
- 0.00156% for a Triple Mutation.
These values are halved if the Parent creature has over 20 Mutations from either Patrilineal or Materilineal Ancestry Lines.
This was all about the kinds of Mutations you can get in Ark Survival Evolved. Hopefully, this guide has helped you. You can also check out our other guides like How To Make Gasoline in Ark Survival Evolved.
