Motes in New World are a magical resource that comes into use in recipes that involve Magic and Arcana. Motes come in different types which are Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Life, and Death Motes. Each of them is used for different tasks like Engineering, Armoring, Furnishing, Stonecutting, and Weaponsmithing. In this guide, I will explain how you can get all the types of Motes in the New World.
Motes are the faint essence of their respective element that I mentioned above. Depending which on element they belong to, they have different purposes. Motes are the lowest form of item hierarchy so can not salvage them. This is one way of getting Motes, salvaging the Elemental Wisp which is a tier above the Motes. Mining, Harvesting, and Gathering from magical animals are the other ways of getting Motes. They are also obtainable from Chests of lvl 20+. Below is the list of where and how you can get Motes and all of their types in the New World:
Fire Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Dragonglory plant. It’s a magical plant commonly found in Windsward. Another way of getting Fire Motes is by Mining the Scorchstone Node. Scorchstone is a burning Node that can be found all around the Map. Gathering Salamander Snails is also another way of getting Fire Motes in the New World. The Salamander Snail is found on curved, broken tree trunks in the areas of Northern Weaver’s Fen.
Air Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Shockbulb plant. It’s a magical plant commonly found in high elevated locations especially in areas of Monarch’s Bluff and Brightwood. Another way of getting Air Motes is by Mining the Shockspire Node. Shockspire is a boulder-like Node that can be found at First Light, Windsward, and Monarch’s Bluff. Gathering Lightning Beetles is also another way of getting Air Motes in the New World. The Lightning Beetle is found in Edengrove.
Earth Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Earthspine plant. It’s a magical plant commonly found in the northeast area of Brigand Pass as well as all around Southern Monarch’s Bluff. It can also be obtained from Weaver’s Fen, Windsward, and Everfall. Another way of getting Earth Motes is by Mining the Earthcrag Node. Earthcrag is a crystal-like Node that can be found at First Light, Windward, and Everfall. Gathering Earthshell Turtle is also another way of getting Earth Motes in the New World. The Earthshell Turtle is found in areas of Ebonscale Reach, Edengrove, and Shattered Mountain.
Water Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Rivercress plant. It’s a magical plant commonly found at waterfalls and along rivers, especially in Windsward and Everfall. Another way of getting Water Motes is by Mining the Springstone Node. Springstone is a fountain-like Node that can be found in most areas of the world but is common in Monarch’s Bluff. Gathering Floating Spinefish is also another way of getting Water Motes in the New World. The Floating Spinefish is found floating around areas of water bodies like rivers and the coastlines.
Life Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Lifebloom plant. It’s a magical plant found all over Aeternum, it is common near water. Another way of getting Life Motes is by Mining the Lifejewel Node. Lifejewel is a White Node with Gold Veins and a Gold Shine around it, it can be found in Mourningdale, Great Cleave, and some other regions. Gathering Lifemoth is also another way of getting Life Motes in the New World. The Lifemoth is found in Ebonscale Reach, Edengrove, Everfall, Great Cleave, Monarch’s Bluffs, Mourningdale, Reekwater, Restless Shore, and Shattered Mountain.
Soul Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Soulsprout plant. It’s a magical plant commonly found near Spires in Everfall and Windsward. Another way of getting Soul Motes is by Mining the Soulspire Node. Soulspire is a Violet Node with crystal nodes growing on it, it can be found in Everfall and Monarch’s Bluff. Gathering Soulwyrm is also another way of getting Soul Motes in the New World. The Soulwyrm is found in Windsward and Everfall.
Death Motes can be obtained from Harvesting the Blightroot plant. It’s a magical plant found west and northeast of Lake Genevieve, southeast of Noble Reach, in and around Arcturus. Weaver’s Fen is another common spot for the Blightroot plant to be found. Another way of getting Death Motes is by Mining the Blightcrag Node. Blightcrag is a Black & White Node with Green Smoke around it, it can be found in First Light, Windsward, Everfall, and Monarch’s Bluff. Gathering Blightmoth is also another way of getting Death Motes in the New World. The Blightmoth is found in First Light and Everfall.
