What does the Moon Cat do in Grow a Garden?

Published Date :

There’s a new pet addition in Grow a Garden, and this time, we have a Moon Cat of the Legendary rarity. It was added in the May 25 2025 update which also added a Twilight shop, Celestiberry and Moon Mango. If you’d like to know more about this animal, its effects and how to get it in your garden, this guide is for you.

How to Get the Moon Cat in Grow a Garden

Here are the steps to obtain the Moon Cat pet:

  • Wait for the Night event in-game. It appears every hour, and the waiting time can be noted from the timer shared next to the Wise Old Owl.
  • Once it’s Night, a new type of shop will spawn next to the Owls in the center of the map. This is the Twilight shop, and it includes rare and exclusive items that aren’t available in the normal shops.

  • Interact with the Twilight shop as soon as it spawns because the items can be purchased by other players. Look for the Moon Cat and if it’s in stock, purchase it right away. There is no Egg to purchase in this case—you can get the pet directly with no “% chances” involved.
  • It costs a whopping 100,000,000 Sheckles, so make sure you have this amount saved up beforehand. It can also be bought for 439 Robux.

What does the Moon Cat do?

The Moon Cat has two passives.

  • Moon Nap: The cat will take a nap in a random spot in your garden and through an aura, it will boost the size of a nearby fruit. So, every 60 seconds, it will nap for 20 seconds and the fruit has to be within 20 studs. The size increase will be 1.51x.
  • Moon Harvest: This gives a chance for Night-type plants to get replanted when they are harvested.

Is it Worth it?

If you have a lot of extra Sheckles and are looking to boost your garden’s productivity, the Moon Cat offers valuable benefits that can outweigh its cost over time. However, if you’re early in the game or have limited in-game cash, you might want to focus on other investments until you’re better positioned to purchase this legendary pet.
