During its panel at the Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online, where Resident Evil Village was also talked about, Capcom showed some new videos of Monster Hunter Rise, the latest main title of the series arriving exclusively on Nintendo Switch next year.
The videos aren’t all brand new, as most were footage from the original presentation trailer shown during a Nintendo Direct last week, but there are some action moments and completely new gameplay videos. The first clip is at the bottom of the news, and shows gameplay of weapon, new monsters (which we’ll talk about shortly), and more.
Also at the bottom of the news, you can find two videos, one dedicated to the Traversal mechanics which apparently allows the player to cross walls, and one for your dog who will assist us during our missions, main and secondary.
The panel was an opportunity to give people a closer look at four new monsters of Monster Hunter Rise, namely Aknosom, Great Izuchi, Magnamalo, and Tetranadon.
The former is the flagship monster in the game, and Capcom didn’t say much for that, however it did note that the monster will move in unusual ways. Aknosom has been described as a “bird wyvern”, the Great Izuchi looks similar to the Great Jaggi, and the Tetranadon is a species of the aquatic monster known for its voracious appetite.
Monster Hunter Rise will be available on Nintendo Switch from March 26, 2021.
