Overwatch 2 Missing & Locked Heroes Glitch Fix

Updated Date :

Those who have played OW1 and have some or all heroes unlocked are now seeing them all locked in Overwatch 2. This can be annoying especially if you main those characters or they are your favorites to play. Due to this, the game won’t be as fun as it was before – especially for returning players, which can be a nightmare for Blizzard. That’s not all – many are missing skins as well. So, why are there missing and locked heroes in Overwatch 2, and are they gone for good? Find out here.

Why are Heroes Missing or Locked for Old Players in Overwatch 2?

If you have already unlocked all heroes in OW1 and now you’re seeing them as locked, don’t worry. You have not lost any items or any progress. The problem is occurring due to the game’s new First Time User Experience (FTUE) flow incorrectly being applied to existing players. This is why you are seeing the heroes locked, as new players would.

How to Fix the Locked Heroes issue for Existing Players in OW 2?

Log out of the game and log back in to solve this issue, which has been reported to work for most players. But if this doesn’t do it for you, head to Blizzard support and submit a ticket. The development team will look into it and check the issue for you. Make sure to fill in all the details required for the team.

Also, confirm whether you have already merged your accounts so that the item transfer can take place. So, until the developers deploy a fix, there’s nothing we can do as players. But rest assured that the player data has not been wiped. You can follow the official Twitter account for the latest updates about the game.
