Overwatch 2: How To Merge Accounts On Console

How to Merge Accounts for Overwatch Cross Progression

To set up cross-progression and carry over their in-game cosmetics from OW 1 to OW 2, players will need to merge their Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo accounts with Battle.net. By doing this, you will be able to access your Credits, Tokens, Competitive Points, Cosmetics, Stats, Presets, and more easily. Now, if you are not sure how to link your Battle.net and console account and merge them to play Overwatch 2, this guide will show you the way.

First and foremost, players need a battle.net account to play OW 2 and also to carry over progress. If you play on a console and don’t have one, make a battle.net account first and then follow the steps below.

How to Merge Overwatch Console Account to Battle.net

    • Launch Overwatch on your console.
    • Press the confirmation button to go past the welcome screen.

how to connect battle net account ow2

    • You will see a QR code and an alpha-numeric code.
    • Players can either scan the QR code with a mobile app or can type the alpha-numeric code at blizzard.com/link.
    • Now, log in with your Battle.net details to confirm the connection between your console and battle.net accounts. You will get a notification if your accounts are successfully connected.

    How to Confirm Account Merge?

    how to confirm account merge

    • Launch Overwatch and click on the Account Merge button.
    • Confirm your account to merge and hold the prompt to complete the action. You can also switch accounts from here.
    • If you wish to know more ways to link your accounts, you can check out this support article.

When you merge your console account to your battle.net account, your OW progress will be saved to the battle.net account and will be successfully carried forward to Overwatch 2.

    PC

The good news for PC players is that your progress will be automatically carried over to Overwatch 2. If you have a console account, you have the option to merge your console account to Battle.net account as well.

Why Should I Merge my Console account to Battle.net account?

To access and carry over progress from Overwatch 1 to Overwatch 2, merging accounts is very crucial. If you have skins or cosmetics on your PC OW that you want to merge to your console, it is possible. Plus, you can also transfer your progress of OW from PC to Console and vice versa. All you need is a link between OW and Battle.net.

Can you link 2 Overwatch accounts?

There will only be one opportunity to merge your console accounts, so ensure that you use the right account for merging them. If you make a mistake, you will not be able to link to a different console account on the same platform. With that in mind, here are the steps you need to follow.

Can you Unlink Overwatch accounts after Merging?

Players can unlink console accounts from their Battle.net accounts, but there is a specific cooldown (that could even be of a year) to link new accounts to it.

    What gets merged?

All items in the Hero Gallery (sprays, emotes, skins and other cosmetics) will be available in the merged battle.net account. Your endorsements, Achievements, Statistics, Credits, Skill Rating will also be merged.
