The method of getting new weapons varies from game to game. Mass Effect 1 goes for a more traditional method of obtaining weapons in the game. You can either get them as drops as you complete various missions in the game or you can get them through the C-Sec Requisition Officer. You can even purchase new weapons from various vendors around the map making for a more traditional experience. The C-Sec Requisition Officer is someone you can regularly check in with to look for new weapons. As your Reputation and Spectre status increases you will get better weapons.

You can even find upgrades for your weapons in specific locations to make them better suited for combat. Also, there will be shops and vendors around but players might prefer the feasibility of finding weapons in the wild.

Mass Effect 3 works in a similar fashion to Mass Effect 2 when it comes to guns with just a few negligible changes.

Decided to become a writer because he started getting good at writing Instagram captions for his friends. Would be better at playing the games he reviews if he didn't spend so much time looking at shoes.
