Hawkeye will debut in Marvel’s Avengers after the launch of the base game.
During the War Table held just in these few minutes, Crystal Dynamics announced that Hawkeye will arrive in post-launch Marvel’s Avengers with a unique set of story missions. Along with him, there will be three other heroes planned for release after the game is released.
The character in Marvel’s Avengers will bring with him a series of story missions that, unlike the game’s only campaign, will be playable individually or in a cooperative. Hawkeye will go alongside the six heroes already announced, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, and Ms. Marvel, albeit after the release.
The head of Crystal Dynamic, Scot Amos, talked the following about the character to Game Informer:
“He was lost track of at the end of [the attack on A-Day]. There’s an entire story pack that comes with him that tells what he’s being doing for these last five years. What you get is a full story that you can, uniquely, play his story as a full co-op experience. Then you can go back and replay all the stuff that comes out on day one in the Warzones with Hawkeye now, as well as all the new stuff that comes with him. He also has some unique story threads that tie up a few gaps that you might have noticed in some of the campaign but also throw out some new threads for the future.”
More updates to Marvel’s Avengers will obviously come after launch, offering a variety of new opportunities for players.
Marvel’s Avengers will be available from September 4th on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
