Maplestory Training Guide (Level 1 to 275)

Here are all training spots, mobs, and their locations to level up fast in Maplestory.

Maplestory is undoubtedly one of the most popular free-to-play 2D side-scrolling MMORPG of all time. It has been almost two decades since its Korean version released but the popularity of the game does not seem to fade.

Since it has numerous maps to explore and plenty of monsters to eliminate, there are thousands of Maplers who have recently been searching for a Maplestory training guide. Those who have just started playing it must be finding it hard to find monsters aka mobs suitable for their training at their current level.

Regardless of which level you are currently in, our Maplestory training guide will surely help you out finding the best training spots. Notably, this guide can be used for both Reboot and Regular servers.

Reboot Vs Normal Servers

As compared to normal servers, Monsters are very strong on the Reboot server. Instead of the recommended level (mentioned below), you will need to go to each training spot two to four-level in the Reboot server.

You can only go to the recommended level if you have more than one character in your account, providing link skills and legion buffs.

Similarly, if you are playing on the regular server and have multiple buffs and strong leveling items then you can go to the training spots a few levels before.

Where To Find Maps In MapleStory

Finding maps in Maplestory is straightforward. If you are having trouble finding any map in the game, you can simply open up the map by pressing W and search for the desired map in the search bat located at the top and then double click on the map.

Notably, not all maps can be discovered by using this method. There are some secret maps in Maplestory that can only be found by following instructions. If you don’t know what these secret maps are and how to get there then keep reading this post.

Hyper Teleport Rock

For the unversed, having Hyper Teleport rock makes it easier to progress in Maplestory. If you are playing it on the Reboot server, don’t forget to buy it. Those who are playing Maplestory on the normal server can get Hyper Teleport Rock buy using the daily gift event on day 1 and day 15.

Once you have acquired Hyper Teleport Rocker, you simply need to double-click on the world map to get yourself teleported to the selected location in no time.

Maplestory Training & Levelling Guide – 2021

Level 1- 10

  • Map: Class Tutorial
  • Mob (s): NA

We have already mentioned all Maplestory training spots and their locations but now let’s find out how to reach there instantly. For the unversed, there are no specific training spots between level 1 to level 10.

The best and easiest way to reach level 10 in the game is to follow the job tutorial quests. When you are done completing this quest, you will find yourself at level 10.

Level 10 – 20

  • Map: Golem’s Temple: Golem’s Temple 3
  • Mob(s): Flaming Mixed Golem
  • Level: 19
  • HP: 350 (Normal) / 525 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 39 (Normal) / 54 (Reboot)

There is no better place than to train Flaming Mixed Golems from level 10 to 20. This is a place which I recommend to train all-new characters in Maplestory. The best thing about this map is you would not need to move much to attack monsters and the amount of EXP you get per mob here is awesome.

To reach Golem’s Temple: Golem’s Temple 3, you will have to walk right from Henesys.

Level 20 – 30

  • Map: North Forest Green Tree Trunk
  • Mob (s): Curse Eye
  • Level: 27
  • HP: 650 (Normal) / 1,300 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 50 (Normal) / 75 (Reboot)

Once you have successfully reached level 20 in Maplestory, you simply need to move towards the Curse Eye, which can be found at North Forest Green Tree Trunk in Ellinia. This map is quite bigger than the previous one and it has numerous monsters to attack as well.

To reach this map, you will have to get to the Ellinia first and use the portal located in town and then use the world map to get the rest of the way.

Level 30 – 40

  • Map: Gold Beach: Gold Beach Seaside 2
  • Mob (s): Violet Clam Slime
  • Level: Scaling from level 30-59
  • HP: Scaling from level 30-59 (Normal & Reboot)
  • EXP: Scaling from level 30-59 (Normal & Reboot)

Unlike other maps, Gold Beach has multiple maps to explores and they are considered the best place to train at levels 30 to 40. What makes this map sought after map in Maplestory is all mobs at this location provide the same amount of EXP.

When it comes to a mob named, Violent Clam Slimes, I highly recommend you to train at Gold Beach: Gold Beach Seaside 2. To get to this map, you will need to go to Six Path Crossway and have a talk with Pilot Irvin. For the uninformed, it is located two portals to the right from the Gold Beach town.

Level 40 – 45

  • Map: East Pantheon: Enchanted Forest
  • Mob (s): Gravi Stonegar
  • Level: 41
  • HP: 8,242 (Normal) / 24,726 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 155 (Normal) / 294 (Reboot)

For a mob named, Gravi Stonegear, there is no better training spot than East Pantheon: Enchanted Forest. When you get there, you will find multiple mobs having more HP than regular mobs but they provide more EXP per mob in exchange.

Instead of waiting to reach level 40 or 45, you can easily go to Gravi Stonegar at level 35. The only condition is your character should be strong enough. In order to reach this map, you will have to head to Pantheon via the Interdimensional Portal at Six Path Crossway first and then go through the portal located on the right side and use the world map to get the rest of the way.

Level 45 – 55

  • Map: Burnt Land: Wild Boar Land Wild Boar
  • Mob (s): Terrified Wild Boar
  • Level: 55
  • HP: 8,000 (Normal) / 24,000 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 187 (Normal) / 355 (Reboot)

The map Burnt Land: Wild Boar Land is too long as compared to other maps in Maplestory. It has numerous Wild Boars and Terrified Wild Boars. What makes this map sought-after is it has an awesome spawn rate. It is arguably the best map to train on from Level 45 to 55.

To reach this map, you will need to head to Perion first and then go through the portal and then use the world map to get the rest of the way.

As soon as you reach level 50, you will have Easy Zakum unlocked, which is said to be the weaker version of the boss Zakum. When you defeat it, you will be given a lot of EXP as a reward.

Level 55 – 60

  • Map: Excavation Site Military Camp 1
  • Mob (s):  Skeledog, Mummydog
  • Level: 62
  • HP: 12,600 (Normal) / 50,400 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 256 (Normal) / 614 (Reboot)

Excavation Site Military Camp 1 is a thin map, which has a teleport feature at the top, taking you back to the top. This might be a thin map but it is surely the best map to train any character because it does not need you to have AoE skills or mobility to clear the map instantly. At this location, you will find Skeledog and Mummydog.

The best thing about this map is you can stay here until you reach level 65 rather than the recommended 60 levels. As we have mentioned above, it is one of the hidden maps that you can’t found on the world map.

To reach this map, head to Excavation Site Excavation Intermission Area in Perion. Once you get there, walk up to the tower and get inside the open gate.

Level 60 – 70

  • Map: Swamp: Silent Swamp
  • Mob (s): Copper Drake
  • Level: 66
  • HP: 16,000 (Normal) / 64,000 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 302 (Normal) / 724 (Reboot)

The mob that you will find at Swamp: Silent Swamp in Sleepywood is Copper Drakes. This is surely one of the best training spots from level 60 to 70. Regardless of on which server your play Maplestory, it would be difficult to find this map on yourself.

If you are having difficulty finding this map then you can go to the next map called Swamp: Humid Swamp, where you can attack Copper Drakes. If your character is strong, you can stay on this map until you reach level 75 rather than the recommended level 70.

Level 70 – 75

  • Map: Orbis: Stairway to the Sky
  • Mobs:
    • Mob 1: Cellion
    • Level: 71
    • HP: 22,000 (Normal) / 99,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 382 (Normal) / 955 (Reboot)
    • Mob 2: Grupin
    • Level: 71
    • HP: 22,000 (Normal) / 99,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 382 (Normal) / 955 (Reboot)
    • Mob 3: Lioner
    • Level: 71
    • HP: 22,000 (Normal) / 99,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 382 (Normal) / 955 (Reboot)

There are multiple mobs that you will encounter at Orbis: Stairway to the Sky I. The names of mobs are Cellion, Grupin, and Lioner. There are two cloud springers available on the map that can be used to clear the map in no time. The best thing about this map is it has an incredible spawn rate, making it easier to defeat as many mobs as you want.

In order to reach this map, you will need to head to Orbis first and then take the portal, and then use the world map to get the rest of the way.

Level 75 – 85

  • Map: Ice Valley
  • Mob (s): White Fang
  • Level: 81
  • HP: 54,000 (Normal) / 243,000 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 780 (Normal) / 1,950 (Reboot)

Ice Valley II is yet another thin map that you will have to explore in Maplestory. It is located in EI Nath. The mob that you will encounter on this map is White Fangs. I highly recommend staying here until you reach Level 85 because it is considered the best map for leveling in Maplestory.

In order to get to this map, you will have to take the Danger Zone Taxi in El Nath to Ice Valley II.

Level 85 – 100

  • Map: Sunset Road: Sahel 2
  • Mob (s):
    • Mob 1: Sand Rat
    • Level: 89
    • HP: 86,000 (Normal) / 387,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 1,145 (Normal) / 2,862 (Reboot)
    • Mob 2: Scorpion
    • Level: 90
    • HP: 90,000 (Normal) / 405,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 1,188 (Normal) / 2,970 (Reboot)

After reaching level 85, you should head to Sunset Road: Sahel 2, which can be found in the Nihal Desert. There, you will have to train against Sand Rats and Scorpians. There is no better place than this to get yourself trained until you reach Level 100.

Unlike other maps, the monster only spawns on the bottom, which is totally flat and extends from one side to another side of the map.

To get to this location, you will have to walk two maps to the left from the portal, which is located in the middle of Magatia.

Level 100 – 105

  • Map: Final Mission: Zakum’s Altar
  • Mob (s): Normal Zakum
  • Level: 110
  • HP: Arms – 700,000 each / Body – 7,000,000
  • EXP: Arms – 44,800-67,200 each / Body – 360,340

As soon as you reach Level 100, you will have a mob named Normal Zakum unlocked. Notably, you don’t even need to have any upgraded gear or link skills to eliminate this boss. To get to this mob, you simply need to either talk with your instructor in EI Nath or use the boss menu.

Make sure to activate a rune before taking down Normal Zakum because it will take you to 105 levels from 100. You will get to a much higher level if your character is using the burning event after just one run.

Level 105 – 115

  • Map: Minar Forest Sky Nest 3
  • Mob (s): Blood Harp
  • Level: 107
  • HP: 904,550 (Normal) / 1,356,825 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 6,165 (Normal) / 7,398 (Reboot)

The mob that you will encounter at Minar Forest Sky Nest 3 in Leafre is Blood Harps. Notably, this is the first training spot in Maplestory where you will need to fulfill the star force requirement. If you fail to meet the requirement, you would not be able to defeat Blood Harps on this map.

To reach this map, you will need to go to Leafre and take the Danger Zone Taxi to Entrance to Dragon Forest and then go through the portal, located on the left, and use the world map to get the rest of the way.

When you get to level 105, you will have Monster Park unlocked, which is a special dungeon that can be visited twice a day. Make sure to avail both entrances because they give significant EXP.

Level 115 – 125

  • Map: Hidden Street Unbalanced Time
  • Mob (s): Dual Ghost Pirate
  • Level: 119
  • HP: 2,186,175 (Normal) / 3,279,262 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 10,530 (Normal) / 12,636 (Reboot)

Hidden Street Unbalanced Time is yet another hidden map in Maplestory. It is located in Ludibrium.  You will have to train against Dual Ghost Pirates on this map. This is said to be an amazing map because it features multiple platforms and a teleporter at the bottom, taking you back to the top.

In order to reach this map, you will have to go to Ludibrium Warped Path of Time and go to the top of the map and then enter the orange portal.

Level 125 – 135

  • Map: El Nath The Cave of Trials
  • Mob (s): Bain
  • Level: 136
  • HP: 4,578,750 (Normal) / 6,868,125 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 19,107 (Normal) / 22,928 (Reboot)

At El Nath The Cave of Trials III, you will have to train against Bains from level 125 to 135. What makes this map is everyone’s favorite is it has an incredible spawn rate and provides awesome EXP per mob. Unlike another map, it has a teleporter on the right.

To get to this map, you will have to go to EI Nath and then have a talk with your instructor at the Chief’s Residence and request them to send you to Zakum. It is located on one map to the left of the Zakum entrance map. When you reach level 130, you will have Easy Horntail unlocked, which is one of the greatest bosses for leveling in Maplestory.

Level 135 – 145

  • Map: Minar Forest Black Wyvern’s Nest
  • Mob (s): Dark Wyvern
  • Level: 141
  • HP: 5,671,500 (Normal) / 8,507,250 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 22,782 (Normal) / 27,338 (Reboot)

There is no better spot than Minar Forest Black Wyvern’s Nest in Learfre to get yourself trained against Dark Wyvern between level 135 to 145. Make sure to eliminate all Dark Wyverns because they provide an incredible EXP per mob.

To get to this location, you will need to take the Danger Zone Taxi to Entrance to Dragon Nest and navigate the remaining way by using the world map.

When you reach at Level 135, you will have Normal Horntail unlocked, giving you an incredible amount of EXP. If your character is not strong and equipped with decent gear, it would be difficult to beat Normal Horntail.

Level 145 – 155

  • Map: Minar Forest The Dragon Nest Left Behind 2
  • Mob (s): Skelosaurus, Skelegon
    • Mob: Skelosaurus (Star Force)
    • Level: 153
    • HP: 9,126,000 (Normal) / 13,689,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 33,882 (Normal) / 40,658 (Reboot)
    • Mob: Skelegon (Star Force)
    • Level: 147
    • HP: 7,128,000 (Normal) / 10,692,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 27,558 (Normal) / 33,069 (Reboot)

Once you reach Level 145, you will need to go a bit deeper into Minar Forest until you get to the Minar Forest The Dragon Nest Left Behind 2. There, you will have to encounter two monsters named Skelosauruses and Skelegons.

Unlike other levels, mobs will take a longer than usual time to get eliminated because they scale up their HP instantly. The amount of EXP per mob gives is incredible and that’s the reason why this is the best place to train yourself between level 145 to 155.

In order to reach the location, you will have to take the Danger Zone Taxi to the Entrance to Dragon Nest. Notably, you can also get there by using the Horntail boss teleporter and walking the rest of the way.

Level 155 – 165

  • Map: Time Lane Detour to Oblivion 4
  • Mob (s): Chief Oblivion Guardian
  • Level: 166
  • HP: 21,489,000 (Normal & Reboot)
  • EXP: 55,374 (Normal & Reboot)

At Time Lane Detour to Oblivian 4, you will have to train yourself against the Chief Oblivian Guardian between Level 155 to 165. Since it is an incredible map, most of the player stay here until Level 170 rather than the recommended level 165.

With the help of using the Hyper Teleport Rock, players can easily get to this location. Those who don’t have Hyper Teleport Rocker can also get there by completing some of the Pink Bean prequests that will take you through Temple of Time. Make sure to keep competing quests until you get to this map.

In order to reach Temple of Time, head to the Leafre Station and talk to Corba and fly all the way to the right. Once you reach there, speak to Temple Keeper to begin Pink Bean requests.

Level 165 – 170

  • Map: Knight Stronghold Armory 2
  • Mob (s): Official Knight E, Official Knight D
    • Mob 1: Official Knight E (Star Force)
    • Level: 176
    • HP: 30,380,000 (Normal) / 45,570,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 74,577 (Normal) / 89,492 (Reboot)
    • Mob 2: Official Knight D (Star Force)
    • Level: 174
    • HP: 28,482,000 (Normal) / 42,723,000 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 70,485 (Normal) / 84,582 (Reboot)

After reaching level 165, you will need to go to Knight Stronghold Armory 2, which is located in Henesys Ruins. On this map, you will have to fight Official Knight E, Official Knight D. Notably, it would not be easy to defeat these two mobs. They have a lot of HP and provide plenty of EXP when eliminated.

The easiest way to get to this map is by using Hyper Teleport Rock. If you don’t have it then you will have to go through the Gate to The Future in Temple of Time. Irrespective of what option you choose to get there, speak to Chief Alex and complete two quests titled “Scouting the Stronghold” and “Piercing Defenses”.

Once you are done completing these quests, you will be able to head to Knight Stronghold Armory 2.

Level 170 – 185

  • Map: Inside the Mothership Corridor H03
  • Mob (s):  Gray  Luxury Saucer
  • Level: 180
  • HP: 34,344,000 (Normal) / 51,516,000 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 74,577 (Normal) / 89,492 (Reboot)

At Inside the Mothership Corridor HO3, you will have to fight Gray Luxury Saucers between Level 170 to 185. This map is quite important in many aspects. Yes, it has an incredible spawn rate which enables you to take out all mobs on the map in no time.

Similar to the previous map, it is a star force map but mobs here have a bit higher HP and provide good number of EXP. Most of the players stay at this map until level 180 because when you reach at this level, you will have Future Perion unlocked.

To get to this map, you will need to go to Omega Sector and then go through the portal, located on the left. You will have to keep going until you get to Boswell Field IV. When you get there, use the Intergalactic Transmitter at the top, and walk the rest of the way through the Mothership.

Level 185 – 200

  • Map: Twilight Perion: Forsaken Excavation Site 2
  • Mob (s): Sinister Rocky Mask
  • Level: 195
  • HP: 12,632,600 (Normal) / 63,163,000 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 59,075 (Normal) / 159,502 (Reboot)

The first thing you need to do after reaching level 185 is heading to Sinister Rocky Masks, which can be found at Twilight Perion: Forsaken Excavation Site 2. This map has an incredible spawn rate, making it the best map to train yourself against Sinister Rockey Masks.

I highly recommend upgrading your gear before heading this map because mobs here are a bit powerful and could inflict massive damage to your character.

In order to reach this map, you will have to head to Henesys Ruins first and then follow the world map to reach the destination.

Level 200 – 210

  • Map: Lake of Oblivion: Weathered Land of Rage & Hidden Fire Zone
  • Mob (s):  Raging Erda & Soulful Erda
  • Level: 201
  • HP: 46,056,000 (Normal) / 110,534,400 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 101,389 (Normal) / 233,194 (Reboot)

Once you have successfully reached Level 200, you will have granted access to the Arcane River, which has a system resembling Star Force. For the uninformed, It requires a specific amount of Arcane Force to deal normal damage to opponents.

Notably, I advise you not to train your character at a map that has a higher Arcane Force requirement. If you are unable to fulfill the requirement of a training spot in Maplestory that we are recommended then it would be better to look for another map that suits your requirement.

There are two mobs that you will have to fight after reaching Lake of Oblivion: Weathered Land of Rage.  Between Level 200 to 210, there is no better training spot than Lake of Oblivion: Weathered Land of Rage in Maplestory to yourself trained against Raging Erda & Soulful Erda.

In order to get to the Arcane River, you will need to head through the Gate of the Present and follow the World Map after completing the initial Arcane River intro.

Level 210 – 220

  • Map: Slurpy Forest: Slurpy Forest Depths & Torrent Zone 1
  • Mob (s): Angry Flyon, Ripe Wolfruit & Green Catfish, Blue Catfish
  • Arcane Force Requirement: 100 Arcane Force
    • Mob 1: Angry Flyo
    • Level: 213
    • HP: 129,519,600 (Normal) / 271,991,160 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 265,808 (Normal) / 611,358 (Reboot)
    • Mob 2: Ripe Wolfruit
    • Level: 213
    • HP: 129,519,600 (Normal) / 271,991,160 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 265,808 (Normal) / 611,358 (Reboot)

After reaching level 210, you will have to head to the next area in the Arcane River, Chu Chu Island. The best training spot for Level 220 to 225 is Forest: Slurpy Forest Depths. The mobs that you will fight at this map are Angry Flyon, Ripe Wolfruit & Green Catfish, Blue Catfish.

You can only reach Chu Chu Island after completing the storyline quest for Vanishing Journey.

Level 220 – 225

  • Map: Lachelein Night Market Chicken Festival 2 & Nightmare Clocktower 2F
  • Mob (s): Gallus & Dreamkeeper
  • Level: 222
  • HP: 197,219,720 (Normal) / 335,273,524 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 322,473 (Normal) / 741,687 (Reboot)

When you reach level 220, the best place to train your character against Gallus & Dreamkeeper is
Lachelein Night Market: Chicken Festival 2, which is located in Lachelein. Notably, the mobs that you will encounter here will give you an incredible number of EXP when defeated.

You will only be able to reach Lachelein when you have already completed the storyline quests in Chu Chu Island.

Level 225 – 240

  • Map: Arcana: The Forest of Earth & Cavern Lower Path
  • Mob (s): Earth Spirit & Befuddled Spirit
  • Mob: Earth Spirit
  • Level: 232
  • HP: 270,291,200 (Normal) / 459,495,040 (Reboot)
  • EXP: 408,778 (Normal) / 940,189 (Reboot)

After Lachelein, the next area that you will need to unlock is Arcana in the Arcana River in Maplestory. Since it has an awesome spawn rate, most of the players stay here till Level 250, which is 10 levels more than the recommended level.

There are players who willingly skip an area called Morass because that map is not as better as Arcana Maps. After reaching Arcana: The Forest of Earth & Cavern Lower Path, you will have to train against the mob Earth Spirit & Befuddled Spirit.

In order to reach the said location, you will have to complete the storyline quest in Lachelein.

Level 240 – 250

  • Map: Esfera: Mirror-touched Sea 2 & Mirror-touched Sea 7
  • Mob (s): Aranya & Keeper of Darkness
  • Level: 244

  • EXP: 509,964 (Normal) / 1,172,917 (Reboot)

As we have mentioned above, most players skip Morass and start training in Esfera at level 240. If you don’t know how to get to Efesra then don’t worry, just keep reading this post.

In order to reach Esfera, you will have to complete storyline quests in Morass. Once you have successfully reached here, you will have to train yourself against Aranya & Keeper of Darkness at
Esfera: Mirror-touched Sea 2 & Mirror-touched Sea 7, respectively.

Level 250 – 255

  • Map: Tenebris: Labyrinth of Suffering Interior 5
Mob (s): Dark Miscreation, Dark Construct

    • Mob 1: Dark Miscreation
    • Level: 244
    • HP: 591,261,000 (Normal) / 1,005,143,700 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 640,971 (Normal) / 1,474,233 (Reboot)
    • Mob 2: Dark Construct
    • Level: 244
    • HP: 591,261,000 (Normal) / 1,005,143,700 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 640,971 (Normal) / 1,474,233 (Reboot)

As soon your level reaches 250, I highly recommend heading Tenebris: Labyrinth of Suffering Interior 5  and train against Dark Miscreation, Dark Construct. The mobs that you will fight on this map will surely give you a significant number of EXP.

Notably, you can only access Tenebris: Labyrinth of Suffering Interior 5 map, when you have already completed storyline quests in Moonbridge.

If you have not yet unlocked Moonbridge, you will need to complete storyline quests in Esfera.

Level 255 – 275

  • Map: Limina: End of the World 1-5
  • Mob (s): Ascension, Foreberion
    • Mob 1: Ascendion
    • Level: 262
    • HP: 655,470,200 (Normal) / 1,114,299,340 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 700,242 (Normal) / 1,610,556 (Reboot)
    • Mob 2: Foreberion
    • Level: 263
    • HP: 666,329,400 (Normal) / 1,132,759,980 (Reboot)
    • EXP: 710,121 (Normal) / 1,633,278 (Reboot)

After reaching Level 255, you will have to head to the training spot located in Limina. To get to Limina, you will need to complete storyline quests in Labyrinth of Suffering. There are numerous maps to get yourself trained in Limina but what most of the players prefer is Limina: End of the World 1-5.

The only reason why people love to stay at Limina: End of the World 1-5 is it has an incredible spawn rate, making it easier to earn a lot of EXP.

That’s everything you need to know about Maplestory training and leveling guide. If you have something to say about this extensive guide, do let us know in the comment section below.
