COD Modern Warfare 2 kicked off with a successful beta and its early phase has been out recently. The players that have completed the campaign are thrilled with endless questions. These are mainly all about its ending and the Marvel-styled post-credit scene. In addition to that, the players new to COD MW have been scratching their heads over Makarov. Not to worry, check out our guide that explains everything about the Makarov in COD Modern Warfare (MW) 2 and the No Russian scene.
Who is Makarov in COD Modern Warfare (MW) 2 (2022)
Makarov is one of the most notorious antagonists of the original COD Modern Warfare series. COD MW 2 follows the events of the previous installment set in the Black Ops timeline. While it is separate from the other MW series and is a reboot, it does feature several favorite characters. This includes Captain Price, General Shepherd, Ghost, Soap, and finally a mention of Makarov. While the newbies are a bit confused about this name, the veteran players might be fully aware of this name.
With a newly formed Task Force 141 formed by Price, our characters face the Las Almas Cartel and the Al-Qatala terrorist organization. And as you progress, you are supported by several allies. In the end, you are supported by the Mexican Special Forces and manage to neutralize Hassan Zyani. Aftermath involves Laswell and the 141 chilling over at a bar. But since it’s always about the business, Laswell briefs about the Ultranationalist group working with someone new. Furthermore, she shares a picture of who she believes is the leader of the ultranationalist group. Once she shares the picture with the entire group, Price states that it is Makarov.
Vladimir R. Makarov is the leader of the ultranationalist group, Inner Circle, and was the main antagonist for the original COD MW trilogy. He is likely to be the main antagonist of Modern Warfare 3.
What does the No Russian Mean? (Post Credit Scene Explained)
The “No Russian scene” is a throwback or reference to one of the iconic missions of the 2009 Modern Warfare 2. This mission sparked controversy as the player participated in a mass shooting at the airport to gain the trust of a Russian ultranationalist terrorist organization. The No Russian mission was controversial as it involved shooting several innocent civilians.
