Where to find Gold Ore in Once Human (Best Locations)

Published Date :

In Once Human, Gold Ore is a valuable resource used in crafting high-tier equipment with significant stat boosts. Here are the locations where you can find this material.

Locations to Farm Gold Ore in Once Human

Late-Game Areas: You won’t find Gold Ore in the early parts of the game. It’s primarily located in higher-level zones such as the Lone Wolf Wastes, Chalk Peak, Red Sands and Blackheart. These are riskier regions with some tougher enemies so ensure that your weapons and armor are significantly upgraded.

As you’d expect Gold ore to look like, they are grey rocks with golden/yellow patches that will grab your attention while exploring during the day. It’s quite a rare resource so keep moving around on your motorcycle and eventually, you should be able to spot them in the wild.

Speaking of spotting them, a certain tool will help you identify it easily and that’s the higher level Curiosity Catcher. Scroll down on the Infrastructure section of the Memetics, and find Ore Detector III which will help you detect nearby Gold Ore deposits. This needs 10 Ciphers and 5000 Energy Links to unlock and you require 5x Steel Ingots, 2x Glass and 1x Rubber to craft Curiosity Catcher III on the Advanced Supplies Workbench.

As you might have done with the previous Curiosity Catcher versions, drag the tool to your Hotbar and press the button to scan the surroundings for any Gold ore in Once Human.

The Tool you need to Mine Gold Ore

You need at least a Tungsten Pickaxe to mine Gold Ore. To craft it:

  • Go to the Memetics Cradle.
  • Click on Infrastructure.
  • Unlock the Tungsten Alloy Pickaxes in Tier 5.
  • Head to the Supplies Workbench.
  • Craft the Tungsten Alloy Pickaxes.

If you’d like to convert Gold Ore to Ingots, you can use the Electric Furnace. First, get the Memetic Specialization called Precious Metal Refining (it can be unlocked from the golden button at the top left corner of the Memetics screen). This will help you smelt Gold Ore into Ingots. Then these Ingots can be sold to in-game merchants to get a large quantity of Energy Links!

And there you have it! These were the main locations where you can find Gold ore in Once Human. If you’d also like to know where to find an Electric Eelget more FuelTungsten OreFireproof Plastic and more in the game, be sure to check out our tips and tricks guides.
