In Destiny 2, Players rely a lot on Legendary Shards as they are the primary currency in the game. For the ease of progressing in the game, having a good amount of Legendary Shards is essential because they are used to upgrade legendary and higher tier Weapons or infuse rare Gears. So, it becomes crucial for the players to know how to get Legendary Shards in Destiny 2, and this guide does the same.
How to Get Legendary Shards in Destiny 2?
These are the methods by which you can get legendary Shards in Destiny 2:
- Dismantle items from your Vault
- Season Pass rewards
- Decrypting Engrams
- Trading Glimmer with Spider
Dismantle Items From Your Vault
You may have several Legendary or exotic rarity weapons when progressing toward the endgame. Selling these items after dismantling them yields 3-4 Legendary Shards based on their Ranks. Many players forget to check their Vault and clear the unnecessary Weapons or armor piling up in their inventory.
Season Pass Rewards
In the Premium track of Season Pass, when you reach Rank 20, you get a Legendary bonus Shard for Dismantling Weapons or Gears. Also, you get 25 or 50 Legendary Shards as rewards in Specific ranks with increasing Ranks. Above Rank 44, you earn 50 Legendary Shards; below it, you earn 25 Legendary shards. You can also make them by dismantling weapons or armor you made from Season Pass because these are primarily Legendary or Exotic tier items.
Decrypting Engrams
Another way of getting Legendary Shards is through redeeming Vendor Packages by increasing ranks with them, especially Tower Vendors. With every increased rank, each vendor rewards you a Legendary Engram, which on decrypting, gives you Legendary Shards. Additionally, decrypting Umbral Engram at Rahool rewards you Legendary Shards.
Trading Glimmer With Spider
Glimmers are another form of currency found in the game. You can exchange them for Legendary Shards from Spider, an NPC found in the game. Spider gives 20 Legendary Shards for every 100,000 Glimmers you sell to him.
How to Use Legendary Shards?
- To purchase legendary items from Xur and other Vendors.
- To infuse Rare or higher tier Gears. This helps to Power up the Gears.
- You can use Legendary Shards to upgrade Weapons.
- In Tangled Store, you can exchange Enchantment Cores from Spider for some Legendary Shards.
