Talking to Polygon, Sony revealed the leakers are not affiliated with Naughty Dog or SIE. This a shocking incident in how they got hands-on the Last of Us 2 asset and easily leaked on the web.
90-min gameplay of Last of Us 2 was leaked on the internet recently giving up birth to various rumors and fake news. This also includes ending spoilers however Sony has taken a firm step to pull down all the assets and is taken strict action against domains that shared unreleased information associated with the game. SIE has identified the primary individuals responsible for the unauthorized release of TLOU2 assets. They are not affiliated with Naughty Dog or SIE. We are unable to comment further because the information is subject to an on-going investigation. It was also rumored that the leak was done by official representatives and later a copy was shared around the web. This includes an introductory video and certain key points revealing the major plot of the story. The real news is when Sony reveals who were behind the leak and how they go hands on the official game assets without the involvement of an in-house person.
