Earlier in April, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke indicated the development of two new RPGs after the immense success that Baldur’s Gate 3. He also believes it to be the team’s best work and considering the bar that Baldur’s Gate 3 has set, it will require a lot of effort to top that off. Following this announcement last month, the confirmation that Larian Studios opens a new studio in Warsaw, Poland is an indication that the developers intend to keep their word.
Nearly a year since its launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 is still one of the most played games and Larian Studios is riding on this wagon of success. The launch of the new studio will help with their two upcoming projects and maybe a lot more. The news was announced by Larian Studios on their official X (Twitter) Page.
Larian Studios Opens a New Studio in Warsaw to Help Develop Two New RPGs
Larian’s tweet stated, “With two new very ambitious RPGs now starting development, what better way to see our visions realised than by growing the team and opening a 7th studio in the heart of Poland’s lively gaming scene!” Game developers CD Projekt Red were quick to respond to this news with their own reply of “Welcome to Warsaw, neighbors! Can’t wait to see what you’re cooking!”
With the addition of the Warsaw Studio, Larian Studios now boasts 7 studios in total with branches located in Spain, Ireland, Belgium, England, Malaysia, and Canada.
While there is no official word they are working on, CEO Swen Vincke announced earlier this year at GDC that the studio is moving away from Dungeons & Dragons. With this in mind, it is likely that the project is not a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3 and is most likely an addition to one of its other series or a completely new project altogether. Once there is more confirmation that suggests what to look forward to, we will update you on the projects.
