Who Cut The Celestial’s Head (AKA Knowhere) In GOTG Vol 1?

Published Date :

During the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1, Marvel introduced us to Knowhere, the severed head of a Celestial. For those who don’t know, the Celestials are truly powerful beings who have been in existence since before the Big Bang. They are the ones who forged the Multiverse. Now can you even imagine that such a powerful entity was decapitated by someone?

Actually, the Marvel Universe does have a few characters who can do such atrocities. And luckily, we just know the guy who’s responsible for it. In today’s article, we will tell you about the guy who cut the Celestial’s Head and eventually gave Guardians of the Galaxy their headquarters, the Knowhere.

Here’s Who Cut the Celestial’s Head in Marvel’s GOTG Vol 1

In Marvel Comics, the Symbiote God Knull cut off the head of the Celestial. Knull is the person who brought the Symbiotes like Venom & Void into existence. So when the Celestials created the Sun and light, they invaded his place and wanted him to become the King in Black. However, Knull rejected their offer.

He then created the Necrosword with his first Symbiote and decapitated one of the Celestials. This Necrosword is specially made for slaying powerful beings and Gods. Fun Fact: It is the same sword that was wielded by Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder.

After decapitating, Knull resided in the Celestial’s Head and refined his blade. In the process, he also used the divine power emerging from the corpse. Later, the Knowhere was taken over by the Collector where he established his Museum, which was later destroyed by Thanos during the events of Avengers Infinity War.

Eventually, the Guardians bought this place from the Collector after the blip and rebuilt it. They installed thrusters to Knowhere so they can travel anywhere. And the rest is the story.

That covers everything about the topic. For more such Entertainment-related content, be sure to stay connected with us at Gamer Tweak.
