After the recent developer insight, it has been revealed that Overwatch 2 will not have a PvE anymore but is this false advertising? Since Overwatch was first announced, it was marketed as having a brand-new PvE mode. This new mode was inspired by the likeness of previous PvE LTMs in OW1. But, now they have come out to reveal it has been scrapped. Many discussions are happening on social media platforms about whether this should be considered false advertising.
Was Overwatch 2 False Advertising with PvE?
The argument online revolves around whether PvE was false advertising in Overwatch 2 and its marketing. Many players seem to want that and were excited about it. Despite the Overwatch 2 PvP being free, the PvE was targeted as the paid content for Overwatch 2.
It is hard to consider it false advertising since Overwatch 2 is free. However, people who bought the launch bundles might have some voice in it. Even so, the bundles included the worth of its money through many different skins for different characters. All these factors have spawned a heated debate on social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter.

As you can see, the opinions online aren’t quite in favor of Blizzard when it comes to the false advertising discussion on Overwatch 2. However, it is yet to be seen how much this affects the overall lifespan of Overwatch 2. The game has been getting many new updates regularly and that will still continue.
