In Split Fiction’s fantasy section, you will come across a bird puzzle, where you must crack the baby bird egg to open a locked door/gate. You’ll notice two birds and one half-hatched egg kept nearby. The goal is to use the egg to open the gate by impact, hatching it in the process. This is where your shapeshifting abilities come into the picture, so turn into a Gorilla and the game’s version of Groot, and follow the steps below to progress further.
Split Fiction Bird Egg Puzzle Guide
As the gorilla, pick up the egg and place it in a nest right in front of the closed gate. The nest is kept on a see-saw, so go to the other end and use the relevant prompt (RT on Xbox) to jump on it. But before stomping, we need some coordination from the other player as well.
The player controlling nature needs to use their power to pull the flower out, grab the horizontal tree trunk, and pull it back. This will essentially work as the force that drives the egg into the gate.
So, when the gorilla jumps, the egg will fly up, and at the right moment, the flower needs to remove its grasp on the trunk, so that the log propels forward with force. This will hit the egg, and push it into the gate, breaking it open. Of course, this will also hatch it, which sounds cruel, but the bird looks visibly fine after hatching, so win-win?
That’s pretty much everything you need to do to solve the bird egg puzzle in Split Fiction. It’s an interesting puzzle—one of the many in this amazing co-op game. You can keep trying as many times as you want to get the timing right.
