Fortnite Chapter 3 How To Slide – Sliding Mechanic Explained

Trying to slide your way around the map in Fortnite Chapter 3? This guide will help you out.

Fortnite Chapter 3 is here and you can do many things in the game. A new mechanic the game adds is sliding. That’s right, now you have even more options to flaunt your victory. If you were bored of dancing on your enemy after eliminating them, now you can just slide to kill them. So in this guide let us take a look at how to Slide in Fortnite Chapter 3.

How to Slide in Fortnite Chapter 3

  1. Start making your character run.
  2. Press the crouch key. PC players can press the Left Ctrl-Key on their Keyboard. Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch players can press the LB, L1, and L buttons on their controllers respectively (this is the crouch key for standard configuration). If you use combat pro configuration then you can press the right thumbstick to crouch on your Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch controllers.

If you are finding it uncomfortable to slide then you should change your crouch key. You can do that by mapping your keyboard key or controller button to some other button from the settings. A thing to remember is you need good speed for sliding, also you won’t slide indefinitely. But if you try to slide downhill a slope then you will slide for a lot longer.

You should try practicing to slide more as this help you traverse the map quickly. And if you can master it then you could also try mixing it around and using Slide in battles. A good example of that would be to start sliding when there is gunfire. This will make it difficult for your enemy to target you. Similarly jumping in the middle of a slide. These things will make your moves very unpredictable.

One of the challenges in the game is you have to deal 50 damage to opponents while sliding and you will get 25K XP. This challenge is a great opportunity to earn some XP and master slides at the same time.
