Stardew Valley is a life-simulation game based on the concept of farming. It also includes other activities like poultry farming, mining, and fishing for survival. Gold is the exclusive in-game currency in this game. It is possible to earn gold by using various methods. Here’s our guide that features steps to make money in Stardew Valley.
How to Make Money in Stardew Valley
Every player in Stardew Valley begins their in-game journey with an initial fund of 500 golds. Selling goods or purchasing them from merchants gets you gold in the game. However, there are multiple ways to earn them.
Fish Pond (Best Way to Make Money in Stardew Valley)
Fish Pond is a 5×5 tile container that requires two days to build. These Fish Ponds are used to raise fish, and in return, the fish will produce an item each day. The required materials to build a Fish Pond includes 5000G, 200x Stones, 5x Seaweed, and 5x Green Algae. The pond can hold fish up to a certain limit. Fishes need to be fed from time to time to collect certain items from them in return. Also, the produced item is stored in the bucket at the bottom of the pond from where it can be collected. A Lava Eel produces a Roe that can generate 360G after selling. However, if they are kept in a Preserved Jar till they get converted into an Aged Roe, it can make more money. The Aged Roe can get you 760G. Selling the Aged Roe at the Willy’s Fish shop is one of the best ways to make effortless money in the game.
Preserves Jar
As the name suggests, a Preserves Jar is used to preserve items like fruits, vegetables, and fish. Fruits make jellies, vegetables make pickles, Sturgeon Roe makes a Caviar, whereas all the other Roes make Aged Roe after the preservation. Ingredients to build a Preserves Jar include 50x Woods, 40x Stones, and 8x Coals. The best item to preserve is a Wild Plum. A basic Wild Plum can get you 80G after selling. Whereas, after preservation, it can get you 210G per jar which makes it worth every effort.
Mining
The Mines gets unlocked on the 5th day of Spring as it remains closed in the beginning due to a landslide. Carry plenty of food so that your player does not run out of energy while mining. Also, equip a good weapon and a pickaxe because Mining comes with a lot of adventures. The deeper you get into the mine, the more the chance to get a gem. Acquiring a Gemologist profession while the Mining activity reaches level 10 increases the selling price of a gem by 30%.
Beehive
Reaching Farming level 3 unlocks the crafting recipe for a Beehive. It produces honey at the end of every 4th day. The requirements to build a Beehive include 40x Wood, 8x Coal, 1x Iron Bar, and 1x Maple Syrup. After placing bees in the beehive, wait for 4 days to collect the honey. Wild honey is the most basic variant of honey that can be produced. Planting different flowers around the beehive will get you different types of honey. These flowers are available in different seasons:
-

- Blue Jazz– Gets you 200G.
-
Summer

Farming
Make sure to reserve a good amount of money aside especially for buying crop seeds. Farming recurring crops like Berries, pineapples, and Corn gives good benefits. In these crops, you don’t have to purchase seeds again and again to farm them. They produce new crops every 4-7 days. Taking care of the crops by using fertilizers will result in the production of good quality crops.
