How to Go Fishing in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1
Fortnite Chapter 2 brings a ton of new things for players to do in Fortnite, you get an entirely new map with new items and a new activity involving fishing. To start fishing you will have to head towards Lazy Lake in the center of the map.
Once you get to Lazy Lake you will be able to find a fishing rod that will let you start fishing for new items. The rods will be inside barrels and you will have to hold Square on the PS4 and X on the Xbox One to grab one.
Once you have a rod, you can go to a nearby body of water with fish in to and cast the rod by pressing R2 on the PS4 and RT on the Xbox One.
You can find rods in other places as well, in the form of random drops, but you will need a body of water to use these rods.
What does fishing do in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1
Once you cast your rod inside, you might get a bite, as this happens you stand to catch a fish and a random weapon. This is a good method to get a new weapon at the start of the match.
The fishes inside the water bodies will also give you buffs like health or shield, which means that fishing has added benefits in Fortnite.
