Pokemon Go Kanto Throwback Challenge 2020

Kanto is one of the first regions introduced in the Pokemon Tv series as well as the game, and this is what set the standard for Pokemon. Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Caterpie, and all their amazing evolutions – the very first introduction of the Pokemon universe to the world. And this is what this throwback challenge is all about, reliving that nostalgia. Starting 1st May, you will notice the following changes in the game apart from the actual Challenge, that we shall discuss further later –

  • You will find more Kanto league pokemon in the wild.
  • Field Research will reward you with Kanto league pokemon.
  • All 7 km eggs will hatch you either Eevee, Onix, Venonat, Machop, Lickitung, Lapras, Scyther,
  • Pinsir, and Tangela.
  • Special edition Charizard hats will be worn by all wild Pikachus.
  • Rare Shiny Venomoths and Venonats are scattered in the wild and up for grabs.

How do you catch the Mewtwo?

Here is the most awaited answer – Mewtwo is the final reward for the Kanto Throwback Challenge 2020. So how do you go on winning this challenge? Easy, you have to finish the given tasks within the time limit of seven days – May 1st to May 8th. Here is the list of tasks, 3 in each level, that you need to finish. With each task comes a reward, and at the end of each level is a special reward. Fasten your seat belts and await the grand prize of the final level.

Level 1

  • Catch 3 Pokemon of these categories – Fire, grass, or water
    Task Reward:10 PokeBalls
  • Click a picture of a Bug-type Pokemon
    Task Reward: 5 Pinap Berries
  • Catch any pokemon of the Rock-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Rewards: 2 Golden Razz Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Pokemon Onix

Level 2

  • Do a raid battle
    Task Reward: Pokemon Clefairy
  • Transfer 3 Pokemon
    Task Reward:10 Super Potions
  • Catch any Pokemon of Water-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Rewards: 2 Silver Pinap Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Pokemon Starmie

Level 3

  • Evolve 3 Pokemon
    Task Reward: 10 Great Balls
  • Hatch an egg
    Task Reward: unknown Pokemon
  • Catch any Pokemon of Electric-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Rewards: 2 Golden Razz Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Raichu encounter

Level 4

  • Give a treat to your buddy
    Task Reward: Pokemon Gastly
  • Send your friend a gift
    Task Reward: Pokemon Dratini
  • Catch any Pokemon of Grass-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Rewards: 2 Silver Pinap Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Tangela encounter

Level 5

  • Walk your buddy and earn a candy
    Task Reward: 10 Ultra Balls
  • Get 3 Great Throws
    Task Reward: Pokemon Chansey
  • Catch any Pokemon of Poison-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Rewards: 2 Golden Razz Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Pokemon Weezing

Level 6

  • Click a picture of any Ghost-type Pokemon
    Task Reward: Pokemon Hitmonchan
  • Catch any Pokemon of Fighting-type
    Task Reward: Pokemon Lapras encounter
  • Catch a Pokemon of Psychic-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Rewards: 2 Silver Pinap Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Pokemon Alakazam

Level 7

  • Click a picture of any Ice-type Pokemon
    Task Reward: 10 Hyper Potions
  • Evolve any one Pokemon
    Task Reward: Pokemon Aerodactyl
  • Catch any Pokemon of Fire-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Rewards: 2 Golden Razz Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Pokemon Arcanine

Level 8

  • Power up any Pokemon by 6 times
    Task Reward: 1 Charged TM
  • Engage in a battle with another Trainer
    Task Reward: 1 Star Piece
  • Catch any Pokemon of Ground-type
    Task Reward: 500 Stardust
    Level Reward: 2 Silver Pinap Berries, 1 Rare Candy, Pokemon Nidoking

Level 9

  • Claim reward
    Task Reward: 3,000 XP
