You can unlock the M.A.M from the Tier 1 milestone, “Field Research“, the M.A.M will help you research a bunch of things, but to get the map, you will need to get access to the Quartz research chain and once you reach level 7 you will get the map.

The Quartz research will begin when you using the Resource Scanner only after you get the Tier 2 Hub. Progress is slow early on in Satisfactory, but mining a planet of all of its resources will surely take some time.
