If you’re looking for a fishing rod that drastically accelerates your grind, the Eidolon Rod is one of the best rods to have in Fisch. The reason why players want it is due to its progress speed boost during the lure mini-game, making it a favourite for players chasing volume catches, rare mutations and money-farming. Here’s how to obtain it and its stats.
How to get the Eidolon Rod in Fisch
This rod cannot be directly purchased from the shop. Instead, you need to complete a mini-quest based on Obelisks. Follow these steps:
First, unlock the Sanctum and turn all the Obelisks in the Cultist Lair. This location can only be accessed after you get the Sea Traveler Note from the Sea Traveler’s quest for which you need the Mythical Sea Turtle.

It’s a challenging catch that’s highly based on luck, so use for best rod during the day near Terrapin Island and give it to the NPC. Then, go to the Terrapin Hideaway and access the Cultist Lair from there.
There are 15 hidden obelisks scattered across the layers of the Lair which you must activate in order to access the hidden trapdoor underneath some planks. Once the door is unlocked, you can purchase the rod for 5,000,000 C$.
The breakdown of obelisks is:
- Cultist Lair proper: 2 obelisks
- Hall of Whispers: 5 obelisks
- Passage of Oaths: 2 obelisks
- Sanctum: 6 obelisks
Once all are turned, the board is revealed, and you’re able to buy the Eidolon Rod.
What are the stats of this rod?
- Lure Speed: 100%
- Luck: 50%
- Control: 0.25
- Resilience: 0%
- Max Kg: Infinite
- Unique Passive: +40% progress speed by default.
- Once the progress bar reaches about 70%, progress speed jumps to +566% and control is set to 0.7 (for that catch).
- 35% chance to trigger the Phantom mutation (which multiplies fish value by ~11x).

In short, the Eidolon Rod sacrifices some control and resilience but makes up for it with great progress speed and mutation potential. So, if that’s what you’re looking for, this is the rod you need.
Best Enchantments
Since the Eidolon’s base luck and resilience are low, you’ll want to use enchantments that cover those weaknesses. The recommended enchant combos are:
- Use Herculean or Piercing to boost control or speed (especially useful when dealing with the massive progress speed).
- Use Blessed Song or Frightful to further push progress speed.
- To help with low luck, consider Immortal (or at least Divine) enchantments.
Use Eidolon when you’re in locations where you expect to hit large weight fish or when you’re farming for the Phantom mutation. Because control is weak initially, make sure you’re comfortable with the lure minigame or you risk losing fish.
If you’re chasing rare fish, high weights, and mutation multipliers, the Eidolon Rod will be useful in Fisch. For players focused purely on huge fish with minimal issues, a more balanced rod might work better. But if you’re ready to work with the stats, this can prove to be quite a powerhouse.
